THE K9 FUND
The K9 Fund was created by the Northwestern Region as the fundraising adjunct to the 1999 USA Schutzhund 3 Nationals and International Police Dog Championships in Reno on November 3-7, 1999. 100% of the funds generated by the K9 Fund go directly to fund the purchase and care of a German Shepherd police dog in the Northwestern Region. Fund contributions are made directly to the Fund Administrator, Northwestern Regional Director Peggy Park, for distribution by the K9 Fund Advisory Committee. This is a wonderful opportunity to extend our collective gratitude and our pooled financial support to the police departments and the K9 Officers serving on our behalf.

The final pledge tally clearly demonstrates that the DDRGSD-L COMMUNITY is the K9 Fund Cyber Challenge victor. Because of the generosity of these men and women committed to the working German Shepherd Dog from European bloodlines, and to the extraordinary generosity of our General Fund donor CAROL VIOLETTE, the Northwestern Region will be donating $820.00 toward the purchase of a working patrol dog for a police K9 unit in that region.

Thank you to each of you -- the true stewards of the working German Shepherd Dog. Your pledges will go the distance to protect our communities for many years to come -- to secure the drive, devotion, and determination of a working German Shepherd Dog for lifetime service as a working police K9.
