    3. How do I know if I can afford a professionally designed web site? - Top

The standard questionnaire will help to identify those features that you must have and those that you would like to have, and help you to determine your web site development budget. Some clients prefer to build their sites in phases (for example, site design first, then preliminary content outline, followed by photo enhancements, with additional informational content over time). Your business goals and mission will ultimately determine your web site design requirements, production schedule, and investment.

    8. Really! I can maintain everything with my web browser? - Top

    9. I'm not sure what I want on my web site. Can I just decide as we build the site? - Top

Unfortunately, "decide as you go" is a very expensive way to construct a web site. We always recommend that clients first take the time to complete the Standard Questionnaire and detail their expectations for their site design elements and informational content before proceeding with site development.

Changes and additions can always be made to the site as work progresses, but having defined goals and a development plan in place before beginning work on your site is a valuable time- and cost-saving tool.

    10. How can I keep costs and expenses within my budget? - Top

Your detailed answers on the Standard Questionnaire will greatly assist us in planning your site development. Decide what you want on your web site before beginning the design work. This may include design elements (font, navigation buttons, artwork, backgrounds, images, colors, etc.) and content (text, tables, data charts, interactive features such as guestbook, chat room, automatic form submission, etc.). Make the time to carefully proofread and edit your web site during scheduled draft reviews. Consolidate your work requests to keep phone calls and emails to a minimum. Provide publication-ready text and photos. Communicate immediately any questions or concerns about the design or structural development of your site.

    11. I found someone offering web sites for $50.00 per page. Does Working Dogs offer this price? - Top

In all actuality, if you are looking for a low cost solution, we can provide it for much less than $50 a page if you want to use our free portal software which drives our Community Center and our DogBits Webhosting Service. For a one-time $30 installation fee you can have a site that you can easily maintain yourself.

However, If you want a professionally designed site The Working Dogs Team provides professional services billed at an hourly rate. We don't compete with unskilled, unprofessional hobbyists who have put together their first web site from a box and then decide to offer "canned" web sites to the public -- sites that look just like thousands of other sites. We design and publish distinctive, one-of-a-kind web sites that are recognized by their originality and unique look and feel. Samish River Kennels, National Narcotic Detector Dog Association, and Eclectic Translations are a few examples of our showcase web sites.

We encourage everyone to consult with a variety of web design professionals before deciding on a web site design service. At the minimum, request (1) a portfolio of their published site development work, (2) client recommendations and (3) a resume of their professional business development and multimedia experience and skills before making your decision. When it comes to your web site design, marketing, and management, you will have a much more successful impact on your target audience with skilled, professional work that promotes you and your business with style, class, and imaginative expertise.
