Functional, but unattractive November 21, 2009 Someone's Mom (Chesapeake, VA) This looks like something my dad would use. Personally, i'd like a pink or an orange cover. It's very functional, easy to use, the padding is nice, and I like the way the leather is starting to mellow a bit and to loosen up. I like the way I can fold the front cover back easily behind the Kindle, since that's how I like to read. It's just not very funky or modern -- it's like an Oldsmobile or something. If you can get a Dell computer in neon green, then why can't you get a more attractive Kindle cover? It looks a bit austere -- like a prayer book or something. Like something a Puritan would carry. Also, I'd like to be able to get it embossed with my name on it, or perhaps a clear sleeve in the front so I could embellish it with pictures and things. It just lacks pizazz and personality. Hey, just because we like to read doesn't make us just a bunk of geeks! Give us some style.
kindle 2 cover November 21, 2009 John C. Bendheim (Verbank, NY) The cover that Amazon sells for the Kindle 2 holds the Kindle by a set of tiny metal hooks that are designed to fit into the side of the device. This is an improvement over the Kindle 1 holder, that does not grip the Kindle securely enough.
Very bad design November 20, 2009 gayle brown (gulf coast) The cover keeps your kindle from falling out and on the floor, however, it cracks the plastic casing of the kindle. Once you place the hooks in the Kindle you will not be able to remove them. I have all these cracks on my kindle casing because of the metal hooks of the amazon cover. The cover itself is large and awarkward to hold in your hand. I think the cover is a good idea with a bad design.
Simple and elegant November 19, 2009 K. I. Luca (Switzerland) An excellent and simple, but elegant cover for your Kindle. Doesn't provide very strong padding, but you shouldn't be throwing you Kindle around in any case. Easy to attach or take off. Disguises your Kindle quite effectively as a book.
Kindle Leather Cover November 19, 2009 F. W. Hainley (Placerville, CA) The cover appears to be well made, is attractive and seems to do it's job of protecting the Kindle.I think it's a worthwhile option to buy.
