The awesome Kindle November 23, 2009 Bryan M. Stokes (Wellington East Australia) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have now downloaded a dozen or so books to my Kindle plus the complete works of Jules Verne, one of my more favoured authors, I would think it very difficult to get good paper copies of his books these days. My experience so far leads me to believe it's unlikely that I will purchase a paper book again. I have even downloaded books that I have in paper format. A damn good product. The time will come when I hope all books will be available for the kindle.

I am very happy that kindle is finally being sold and shipped outside US. Since it was first introduced, i have always wanted to have one. Unfortunately, it is not yet available here in Qatar where I am working and residing. I just hope it will be available soon.Kindle Wireless Reading Device (6" Display, U.S. Wireless)
Brilliant but.... November 23, 2009 Cooper Peter Robert (Hong Kong) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've just bought this for my Wife. She loves it and couldn't be happier. I think the screen could be a smidge bigger, the text when its small enough to get a decent amount of words per page is a tad small i think but its marginal. The other thing when she's reading in bed is the click from the page forward button. sounds like she's typing morse code and when you're tying to get to sleep it's VERY VERY ANNOYING. If anyone knows how to turn it off let me know as i can't find anything in the user guide. i dont think its a digital click, just sounds like the depression of the button spring
I love my new Kindle November 23, 2009 Marian L. Kirk (Elkton MD) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I was a little worried at first since I always loved turning the pages of a book. I love my Kindle and I take it everywhere with me. It is my new friend. I have bookcases full of books and now I can save trees. The ease of downloading is great. When I first went to Amazon to research the Kindle I was very excited on the way they precented it. My employer has a Sony book reader but the Kindle has more to offer, and I will never go back to paperbacks and new releases when I can download them so quickly and at a reduced price from bookstores and retail stores.
