This navigation is the perfect thing. It is simple, easy to use, quick, small, and smart. Although MSN will be canceling their services in 2012, I find the MSN services to be nothing special. The device works perfectly and does it job of getting you from point A to point B. Garmin is the best company in navigation, and make it simple to update the software and Maps on this nifty device. I highly recommend this to anyone debating whether or not to purchase it.

I like the size and shape of this but it takes you in circles, tells you to turn the opposite way when you are sitting right in front of the place you want to go. It also waits until you in the intersection then tells you to turn so if you aren't in the correct lane you have to over shoot and uturn and go back to turn....doesn't seem like this is programed correctly. I have another GPS by Invion and it HAS NEVER done this ever! I may go back to using the old one as this new one I don't trust.

After buying a Nuvi 265 WT as a gift for my girlfriend last year, I decided to stick with Nuvi lines of GPS products when I wanted one for myself. While my new 285WT does not have free live traffic information support, it does come bundled with 3 months free subscription of MSN Direct.
The setup of 285WT was super easy. The plug n' play has not been any easier :) My 285WT has similar menu system as 265 and is very intuitive, very easy to use. The GPS was able to establish connection with satelite(s) and was ready to go in no time.
While I expect the GPS (or any other technology products for that matter) to work flawlessly, reliably and accurately, the asthetics too are important for me. 285 passes with flying colors on both fronts. I really like its piano black finish that matches the black color of my vehicle. Very sharp looking :)
The MSN direct service requires the GPS to be registered online for it to work and needs to be done only once. The whole process took me less than 10 minutes. I was able to navigate to the [...] website from my computer, get the directions online and send them to my GPS wirelessly. Wicked impressive !!!!!
Its unfortunate that MSN Direct will not be around for long and is scheduled to be discontinued in 2011. And thats the only reason I have not given the GPS 5 stars overall. If you are looking to buy one, I would suggest to add a touch-screen protector cover to your order. Those things are very cheap and will help avoid finger prints on screen.

This product has bluetooth compatibility but it will only work with a smart phone. Garmin should have tell people about this feature with the packaging or ad. I bought a 205W at Sam's for $79.00 and returned it when I found this one with bluetooth. I didn't know about this issue until I tried to pare my phone with the 285w. I could have returned the GPS but Sam's had sold out on the model. Garmin has shown me another way for the consumer to get ripped off! This is not the seller's fault.
