| Jump Lists New in Windows 7, Jump Lists take you right to the documents, pictures, songs, or websites you turn to each day. To open a Jump List, just right-click a program icon on the Windows 7 taskbar. (You'll also find them on the Start menu.) What you see in a Jump List depends entirely on the program. The Jump List for Internet Explorer 8 shows frequently-viewed websites. Windows Media Player 12 lists commonly-played tunes. Your Jump List missing a favorite? You can "pin" whatever files you like there. Jump Lists don't just show shortcuts to files. Sometimes they also provide quick access to commands for things like composing new e‑mail messages or playing music. Improved Windows Taskbar In Windows 7 you can "pin" favorite programs anywhere on the taskbar for easy access. Not crazy about the icon lineup? Now you can rearrange them any way you like by clicking and dragging. Finally, there are new ways to preview windows. Point to a taskbar icon to see a thumbnail preview of open files or programs. Then, move your mouse over a thumbnail to preview the window full-screen. You can even close windows from the thumbnail previews--a big time saver. Snap Ever need to cut through a cluttered desktop and quickly focus on a single window? Just click a pane and give your mouse a shake. Every open window except that one instantly disappears. Jiggle again--and your windows are back. Offering the latest in ultra-low voltage processing power, the dual-core Intel Pentium SU4100 has a has a power consumption rating of just 10 watts and a 1.3 GHz speed that's paired with a fast 800 MHz front-side bus (FSB) and 2 MB L2 cache. (An L2, or secondary, cache temporarily stores data; and a larger L2 cache can help speed up your system's performance. The FSB carries data between the CPU and RAM, and a faster front-side bus will deliver better overall performance.) Designed for use in ultra-thin laptops to balance the competing needs of high performance with battery consumption, the Pentium SU4100 features Intel SpeedStep technology, helping your system to dynamically adjust processor voltage and core frequency to decrease power consumption and heat production. It also comes with built-in Execute Disable Bit technology, which helps keep your laptop safe from viruses, worms, and other malicious attacks. | A Multi-Gesture Touchpad allows you to pinch, flick and swirl your fingers across the touchpad for more natural photo and video viewing as well as intuitive navigation of websites. The Multi-Gesture Touchpad enables you to scroll, zoom in and out and flip through web pages, photos, spreadsheets and more. The TouchPad can also be disabled with a one-touch button, eliminating accidental cursor movement with palms and wrists when using an external mouse. | Extended Battery Life via Low Power Components and Acer's PowerSmart Adapter While most notebooks with long battery life use higher cell batteries which protrude from the back of the notebook, Acer combined numerous low power components with a standard high-capacity 6-cell battery, allowing them to keep the design as small as possible. In addition, an Acer PowerSmart adapter senses when the notebook is unplugged, and stops sending needless energy. It also stops pulling power from the wall outlet when the adapter is full. The PowerSmart adapter saves 1752 watts of energy a year--equivalent to lighting a 15-watt (65W equivalent) light bulb for 116 days.

Small, fast and long-lasting. . .laptop! February 10, 2010 Blogging Molly (Astoria, NY United States) Love this laptop. Used it on coast to coast flights - never came close to draining the battery. It's super light and cute and runs like a dream. Funnily enough, its keyboard is bigger than my old laptop's - which was bigger overall. The price couldn't be beat. I did tons of research - was considering getting a netbook, but realized I needed more power and memory. This laptop is netbook-size and not much more expensive. (I paid $550.) Its speakers are pretty powerful, if tinny and video plays great. (even streaming video). Downloads are quick, even over wireless. The only problem I've run into is the multi-gesture touchpad. You're supposed to be able to zoom in and out and other commands, but I've never been able to get it to work right. But I don't really care! Definitely recommend this as a powerful budget laptop.
Nice little notebook comp February 7, 2010 CephloProc (Northeast USA) Bought this as a christmas gift for my wife. She loves it.
First Win 7 machine I've used, and I can see why folks are
pleased with the new OS. The Acer is going to be handy on trips.
Good battery time(a little long on charge time).

Good but could be better February 4, 2010 John A. Kelly 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Fast "enough" better than netbook, the right price, keyboard is quite good for my use, screen pretty good, The only gripes I have is the display does not go back far enough, and fingerprints really show up on the surface since its got a gloss finish.
An Ace by Acer January 21, 2010 Light Artist (Fremont, CA USA) Great weight. Great dimensions. Fantastic performance (not expecting to run Pro/E on this ;-)).
A bit pricey.
