Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
“Mom, where do babies come from?” Many parents live in fear of the day their child asks this question—which inevitably happens, often as early as the preschool years. Here is a picture book designed especially for young children who are becoming aware of their bodies, but aren’t ready to learn about sexual intercourse. Written with warmth and honesty, Amazing You! presents clear and age-appropriate information about reproduction, birth, and the difference between girls’ and boys’ bodies. Lynne Cravath’s lighthearted illustrations enliven the text, making this a book that parents will gladly share with their young ones.

2 out of 5 stars Very confusing for parents and kids   October 5, 2009

Despite all the positive reviews we were disappointed with this book. It gives quick definitions of the body parts and then immediately dives into the topic of getting familiar with your private parts in private. While parents might choose to skip that if it is not relevant to their kids, we found that we skip way too many areas and described things in different ways. The illustrations could be better too. One very significant topic that the book does not cover is the idea of sharing everything that might pertain to the private parts and other people - the child has to know that it is OK and be comfortable to share everything with parents.

5 out of 5 stars Great book for the curious pre-schooler!!   September 16, 2009

My 3 1/2 year old loves this book. It is written with cute pictures and understandable language with correct terminology. Great at presenting information that she was SO curious about in a way she could understand and relate to. Would recommend for 3 -5 year olds or even a bit older.

5 out of 5 stars Simple and age-appropriate   August 14, 2009

My 4 year old son had been asking about girl private parts and boy private parts, and I found this book by searching Amazon.com. This book is awesome! It has simple illustrations, goes into details, but without too much for the age group. I hope more parents are willing to get this book for their children. It is never too early to learn about your private parts and what they can do as you grow. This has helped my son to be even prouder of his body and answered the multiple questions he had. A++!

1 out of 5 stars Not for 4-8 year olds!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   July 24, 2009

This book is illistrated very well, that's the problem, to well. I would be embarassed to give this book to a ten year old. The content and illistration is more geared toward 13 year olds. More like puterty. I know our kids are sexually active early, but a 4-8 year old does not need or want that much information. There is a full body illisration of a matured male. Not for 4-8 year olds!!!!!!

5 out of 5 stars A must read for the little ones.   July 15, 2009

impressed with this book. Not too much information,, very straightforward. I read it to my 5 year old and 8 year old boys. I think I should have started earlier with the 8 year old. I would recommend the "Its so amazing " book for 8 year old + ages,, and also would recommend "You mean its not the stork?" book for 5+ year olds. Both are informative and can be read in pieces to what you see fit.
