Liked Harry
Sort of liked Poppy at the beginning. Liked her more towards the end.
Nice to not have the rest of the family so enmeshed in this book as in the previous ones. It gave the H & H a chance to breathe on their own.
REALLY LOOKING FORWARD TO LEO'S BOOK.
LOOKING FORWARD EVEN MORE TO ANOTHER CONTEMPORARY OF LK which I hear is a-ways off since she's wrapping up the Hathaway's.
But I am patient and a fan so a little anticipation won't hurt me.

I really enjoyed this book. I have only one complaint. Why wasn't it mentioned that Merripen and Cam (awesome Gypsy brothers-in-law) are from an Aristocratic Irish family and that Merripen is now titled. Is it because of the snobbery of the blue bloods and their views on blood lines? Or, (and this reasoning I like) was it because Cam and Merripen don't give a d*mn. I don't know, but I would have kinda liked this mentioned to that idiot Michael's dad, just so they could rub it in his stupid, pug nose. Anyway, I loved Poppy's character. She was vulnerable, intelligent, sweet, bold and strong. And, Jay Harry was just the sexiness man. I didn't like Jay Harry at first. I thought his character was despicable. But, lucky for him he was redeemable. At the end, his very love for Poppy, his intelligence and his honesty with her about himself made him delectable. Now Cat and Leo - I can not wait for their story next Summer. Fireworks! Cat's not going down easy. Finally, I am at a lost as to what kind of man Mrs. Kleypas will put together for Beatrix. She is splendid. Her brashness, boldness and complete love of family and animals is adorable. Good luck with that guy Mrs. Kleypas. Do her proud. (Amelia and Cam are still my fav couple).

I loved this book and just spent the whole of my day off reading it when I had a million other things to do. I really have not much enjoyed the first two books in this series but with this one I think Lisa Kleypas is right back on top form. Harry Rutledge is a georgeous hero. Apparently ruthless and determined to get his own way but with such a damaged past which becomes clearer as you read that he is also desperately vulnerable - for me a fatal combination. Poppy is also charming and she is just perfect for him - her and her family are just what he needs. I love a romance where the couple get married early on and you see them forced into intimacy, getting to know each other and falling in love and that is what you get with this book. I enjoyed the Hathaway family much more in this book than in the others and their part in the story was well done and didn't feel in any way gratuitous. I can't wait for Leo's story now. He became much more interesting during this book as well when previously I had thought him rather weak and spoilt. The romance in this book is slightly darker and less straightforward than in the previous two Hathaway books but it makes for more emotional intensity and drama and a more satisfactory outcome. Loved it.

The Hathaway family has been living at Michael Bayning hotel for a few years on their first encounter Michael decides he must have Poppy. Poppy plans to marry another man until Michael decide to entrap her into marriage. The strong intelligent Hathaway family takes Micheal into their fold and a threat if he breaks her heart they will break him. This was a very book to read - love it when the man is one perusing the relationship.
The Hathaway series: Mine Till Midnight (The Hathaways, Book 1); Seduce Me at Sunrise (The Hathaways, Book 2), looking forward to Book 4!!!

I'm new to Lisa Kleypas so I only know her later works, having gone through the Wallflower Series and now having read two of the books in the Hathaway Series. Tempt Me at Twilight definitely doesn't follow the typical romance formula of a love/hate courtship, and then the happy ending. Kleypas proves that she's not just a typical author - she actually delivers exactly what her readers want. Harry's reaction when he first meets Poppy can only be called love at first sight, and he does everything in his power to make her feel the same way - even though he's so clueless his actions almost always are wrong. As Poppy observes more than a few times throughout the story, her world gets completely turned upside down. And as Harry remarks, Poppy will always be fundamentally good and pure while he will never stop being a flawed villain (which really only makes him more lovable after his story is revealed). Poppy had a great bit of revenge toward the end of the novel - the best setdown ever! The supporting characters were funny and perfect, almost identical to staff in Beauty and the Beast... too cute. Also there are a few cliffhangers and surprises toward the end, which make perfect sense for the rest of the Hathaway's story, and are much more surprising than the plot twists in Win's story. I really loved how Poppy and Harry basically stumbled into their relationship and fought for what they had together. I also liked how their characters enhanced each other for the better. Leo, as always, is at once hilarious and mischievious, brooding and mysterious - cannot WAIT for his story! Loved the funny situations Leo's sisters put him in (that flag metaphor was priceless). I'm also curious as to whether Jake Valentine will have a storyline of his own (really hope so, since his character fits in with typical Kleypas heroes). I only wish Poppy's full name would have been revealed!
