From an anatomy novice November 4, 2009 Paul J. Vitol (Ashburn, VA) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I am not an expert in anatomy, which is why I got this program. It's great; now I can awe my doctors with my brilliance!
Outstanding Software November 2, 2009 Jim L (Ok) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is outstanding software at a very reasonable price. It has a very simple interphase but good function. It uses a real cadaver so you get a real idea of where everything is in the body. You can go one layer inferiorly or superiorly into the body with a click of the mouse. You can zoom in/out, turn the body(lateral, anteriorly, or posteriorly), and drag it up/down. When you stop the mouse over a muscle or organ it brightens up and when you click it the name of the item is above the body. The item clicked also turns from black and white to muscle red to show the extent of the item. In the box to the right there is then a very good explanation of what the muscle does and the Origin / insertion / action / inervation. It does a lot more than that but this alone is enough for it to worth many x more than it costs. If you ever need to know where something is in the body you need this software. I can't think of a down side to it.
Excellent Software, but I believe needs design change for Navigation April 14, 2009 Anatomy Student (Woodridge, IL) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I did buy this software through Amazon and glad I bought it, however.....
There are some annoyances in navigating this software. I do suggest it, but if I were only going to buy 1 piece of software, right now I'd buy Practice Anatomy Lab 2.0 over Real Anatomy 1.0.
Real Anatomy can and probably will be superior in the near future, but I think they need to make some changes.
Real Anatomy Software March 20, 2009 B. Magnatta 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
Real Anatomy Software has helped me to study the bones and muscles in my Anatomy and Physiology class. It helps me to become familiar with cadaver appearance and locations of bones and muscles.
I will use this software to see the nerves and whatever else we cover in class. I really appreciate the layering effects this software offers because it helpes me to visualize the muscles in relationship to other muscles and bones.
Real Anatomy Software is perfect for the students that are learning using cadavers in class. Books don't give a seemingly 3D rendering of anatomy like this software does. Zoom, rotation, and layering are what makes this software fit the bill.
Great Software for any anatomy student! February 4, 2009 Anatomy Student (Salt Lake City, UT) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
A fantastic anatomy program for any level student. The dissections are amazing, I love being able to remove layer by layer of the cadaver, then highlight a specific landmark or muscle or organ and then selecting alternate views and seeing it from other angles or in other positions. The practicum is a great way to prepare for labs with 2 different difficulty levels and the ability to select what you want in specific to be tested on. There is no better software option on the market and the price is ridiculously cheap.
