| Editorial Reviews:
Product Description Up-to-date and challenging, this best-selling text is a practical manual that helps future and current professionals deal with ethical issues that they will confront at the various stages in their development. The authors provide readers with the basis for discovering their own guidelines within the broad limits of professional codes of ethics and divergent theoretical positions. They raise what they consider to be central issues, present a range of diverse views on these issues, discuss their position, and provide readers with many opportunities to refine their own thinking and to actively develop their own position. The authors explore such questions as: What role do the therapist's personal values play in the counseling relationship? What ethical responsibilities and rights do clients and therapists have? What considerations are involved in adapting counseling practice to diverse client populations?

Major differences between 6th and 7th Edition! September 23, 2009 happyhelper 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
My 6th Edition arrived promptly and in excellent condition. Our course instructor had compared earlier editions when new one's were available in the past and noticed little difference. So, to save money, I bought the 6th Edition rather than the 7th and quickly found that there were some substantial changes that made it difficult to do a group study. Now, I see that new copies of the latest (7th) edition are available at a lower price than new copies of the 6th. Hopes this helps someone avoid this problem.
Issues and Ethics in the Helping Professions (with InfoTrac) May 11, 2009 Ame (California, USA) I purchased this book because it was supposed to come with the InfoTrac but it didn't. Although the book was accurately described, I feel like this was falsely advertised since there was no InfoTrac and essentially wasted my time and money.

Great text... July 30, 2005 Jenny Gant (Vermont) This was an excellent text book for our Legal and Ethical Issues class. The writing was clear, concise and enjoyable. I recommend it for anyone needing a resource on this subject.
