Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
One of the premier clinical dermatology references since 1930, this classic text covers clinical presentation and therapy for a full range of common and rare skin diseases. Its concise, clinically focused, user-friendly approach has made it a favorite through nine best-selling editions. The authors, all well-respected clinicians, balance evidence-based treatment guidelines with valuable anecdotal advice validated by many years of clinical experience. Now appearing in full color for the first time, over 1,500 brand-new photographs depict diseases exactly the way they present in real life. And, a new, consistent organization makes information even easier to find than ever before.

  • Covers both common and rare skin conditions.
  • Balances evidence-based treatment guidelines with advice derived from many years of clinical experience.
  • Features the cohesiveness of an authored, not edited text.

  • Incorporates all of the very latest dermatologic therapies.
  • Offers full-color illustrations throughout.
  • Uses a new, consistent format to facilitate reference.

2 out of 5 stars Lacking photos   March 4, 2009

Disappointed in the lack of photos. Each time I look up an index item and refer to the page there isn't a photo, even for actinic keratosis. Regret purchase.

5 out of 5 stars A great book   July 15, 2007

This is a must have for all dermatologists. This book is small in size, but massive in content. I have always said, "If it ain't in Andrews', it ain't worth knowing." and this is still true of this version. This edition has great color pictures (although I always thought that the B&W photos in the previous editions were so terrific that you could still "see" the color in them.). This is another book that you really shouldn't be without whether you are a resident or practicing dermatologist.

5 out of 5 stars A Great Dermatology Text   June 15, 2007

This is a must have book for non-dermatologists and dermatologists alike. This text has replaced Habif as the traditional textbook for non-dermatologists, because of its concise straightforward approach to dermatology, making it easily understood by the non-dermatologist. For the dermatologist, it is simple to read, but not lacking in depth, such that it can serve as the main textbook for refreshing the information learned during residency without getting bogged down with useless minutia. I use this as the textbook of choice on a daily basis.

5 out of 5 stars EXCELLENT NEW EDITION   July 18, 2006

Forget the hype about Bolognia, this is the best book on clinical dermatology out there today. Written by three of the top clinical dermatologists in the country, there is a unity of writing and approach and and a consistent high quality level that you don't get with texts with hundreds of co-authors (many of whom are in training themselves). There is also a refreshing aspect that this book is written for practicing dermatologists and avoids much of the incomprehensibility of so-called academic dermatology texts. Andrews is much improved over the last edition with color photos and the input from Dirk Elston, one of the most prolific dermatogists in the country. This is the one book EVERY dermatologist should have on his desk.
