Amazon.com Review In many ways, The pH Miracle is reminiscent of an earlier generation of diet books. Much of the focus is on an intestinal cleansing program, followed by a diet that is 70 to 80 percent vegetables, coupled with a tremendous selection of supplements that authors Robert and Shelley Young recommend to everyone, no matter what their age, gender, or state of health. The Youngs point their fingers at candida as a main culprit in the poor health of many people. Unfortunately, they back up their claims with only vague references, such as "a 1991 study" and "a leading cancer researcher." Many readers may wish for more specific evidence, but instead will have to make do with enthusiastic recommendations, alphabetized lists of vegetables, and pleasing chapters with vegetarian recipes that taste good no matter how you feel about the diet as a whole. Sprinkled throughout the book are short testimonials of people who were able to reverse cancer, improve their digestion, and lower their cholesterol by following these recommendations, and it's hard to argue with the cholesterol-lowering results that a 70 percent vegetable diet will achieve. Still, the medical value of much else in the book remains hotly contested, and as always, it's wise to check with your doctor before starting off in search of miracles. --Jill Lightner
Product Description Forget cholesterol counts. Forget calories and fat grams. Forget blood pressure, blood sugar, hormone levels or any other markers of health you're used to hearing about. If you want to lose weight and prevent or reverse diseases like diabetes, heart disease and even cancer, "The pH Miracle" promises to show you how. Dr Robert Young and his wife, Shelley, reveal a diet and lifestyle programme that unlocks the secrets of pH balance and of food as a healer, restorer, balancer and life-giver. They illustrate that the single most important measurement of your health is the pH of your blood and tissues - how acidic or alkaline they are. In fact, they argue, the entire metabolic process depends on an alkaline environment and chronic over-acidity corrodes body tissue. The pH miracle shows readers simply and clearly how to get a balanced system with a programme that explains how to eat optimally for health and weight loss. You'll learn which foods to eat, which foods can be combined safely, which should be eaten alone, which should be avoided altogether and which supplements can help. The authors assert that within weeks, you'll have more energy, a stronger immune system and will shed pounds and inches.

Excellent service February 19, 2010 M. E. Hernandez Aside from the fact that this is an excellenet book, the seller provided excellent service. We received the book quite a few days before scheduled, and the books were in perfect shape!

Do your own research January 19, 2010 Toby McGuire 6 out of 8 found this review helpful
I am very much interested in the Ph balance view of good health. After seeing all of the good reviews for this book, "The pH Miracle," by Robert O. Young, I decided to get a copy of it. I read it through completely and found a couple of his comments and analogies were helpful, but for the most part, it left me confused and even somewhat skeptical. I decided to do some further research. After stopping by at his website, I find it quite hideous that he has photos of himself and his wife on virtually every product bottle that he sells!
I find it equally hideous that he conducts his "retreats" all over the world costing the participant tens of thousands of dollars! I find it sickening that on his website, you can arrange for an appointment to see him for an "evaluation." He will see you on the appointed day for about 7 hours conducting his "evaluation." The cost to you: [...]!
But the most disturbing and appalling thing is this: all of his so-called "credentials" have been achieved through "correspondence" and come from schools that have not been accredited. Non-accredited correspondence schools that have health-related instruction almost always advocate unscientific concepts. Not only that, how in the world can you possibly learn to care for patients through correspondence!
On his website, it states that he received a MS in nutrition in 1993 and received his D.Sc. with emphasis in chemistry and biology in 95' from the American College in Birmingham, Alabama. In 97' and 99' he received a PhD and ND from Clayton College of Natural Health.
Both of these schools are non-accredited correspondence schools. The Clayton College states that it is accredited by the American Association of Drugless Practitioners and the American Naturopathic Medical Accreditation Board. But these are not recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education, which means that "accreditation" by them is meaningless. In fact, it has been reported that one student from Clayton College received their B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. diplomas dated on the same day!
In 1996, under a plea bargain, Dr. Robert Young pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of attempted practice of medicine without a license and was promised that the charge would be dismissed if he stayed out of trouble for 18 months. [Herbalist in Alpine pleads guilty to reduced charge. Deseret News (Salt Lake City), Feb 5, 1996] Young claimed that he had looked at blood samples from two women and simply gave them nutritional advice. The blood test he advocates has no scientific validity.
Speaking of his "blood tests" that he conducts and teaches, this also is a money-making scam and is nothing but quackery. Live blood cell analysis is a scam. [...]
Is it any wonder he conducts his 5 day "live blood cell analysis" course for a price of [...], plus another [...] for a microscope.
I can say much, much more but dear people, we need to not only keep our PH in balance; we need to use our minds, making sure that it is in balance as well. Wake up and do the research yourself. Your health deserves it! Money-making scams are everywhere.

Really precious informations.A book that i would recomment to anyone to start with the PH educational trip.It opened up my eyes.I always had ph 5.5 in my urine tests and i never heard one doctor to regard it as a thing of consideration!!! Now all make sense to me...
I wonder how and why, doctors are not educated that way.The humanity would be much more healtier...
Thank you Amazon
