5 out of 5 stars Worth its weight!   October 2, 2009

I have browsed through 2 other study resources for the PANRE and found this to be the most helpful. There are multipl gramatical erors throughout the the book, though none significant enough to change meaning of the underlying information. It is a quick and relatively thorough swim through the general subject matter needed to pass the PANRE and also for just a general review. I especially found the chapters on pediatrics and geriatrics helpful. Good Luck.

Good, however Appleton and Lange was better, please you can pay for the online review bank of > 1000 questions for $30 for 3 months.

If you MUST take the ridiculous, irrelevant, insulting and zebrafied PANRE, then this book along with the two Lange books (questions and review) is all you need. Having been a PA for 20 years and in a specialty field for 6, I find taking the PANRE to be a complete waste of time and money. But hey, I guess if you're a desk jockey for NCCPA somebody has to pay your salary since you're not actually practicing medicine. Maybe somebody should consider folks being certified for life after having passed 4 exams and seeing thousands of patients. Anyway, I guess this is supposed to be a book review. This one is good, appropriate depth for the exam, and also a good reference to have on the shelf. The Lange review book is a little shallow, but the book of questions gives great explanations. Spend the money to get all 3, plan on moderate study for about 2 months prior, and you'll pass.

this is a great book and I should have had it earlier. It presents information in a very concise manner so that review is made easier.

5 out of 5 stars A Must!   January 29, 2009

For a graduate of 6years, this was a great review book. It could have gone a little more in detail, so I also read CURRENT medical diagnosis along with it. But very concise, and questions very similar style to the PANRE. I got a 92%! Great buy, and I will buy the next up to date version for my PANRE in 6years.
