Product Description The sold out 6-issue miniseries event of 2004-2005 — written by Geoff Johns (THE FLASH, TEEN TITANS) with art by Ethan Van Sciver and Prentis Rollins — is collected for the first time, complete with the preview story from Wizard Magazine! Hal Jordan was considered the greatest Green Lantern of them all. But Jordan lost control, allowed himself to be corrupted and transformed into the villainous Parallax. Later, Jordan reappeared and made the ultimate sacrifice — a sacrifice that allowed him to become the Spectre, the Wrath of God.
After several years of activity on Earth, The Spectre became restless and sought a way to prove himself worthy of that noble reputation. See how a man born without fear and seeking to rebuild his life, puts cosmic forces into motion that will have repercussions not only on Earth but across the universe.
This volume also features an introduction by best-selling author Brad Meltzer and a new cover by Van Sciver!

A true classic....And I'll never forget it October 16, 2009 Comics Fan (USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This book has got to be my favorite comic book story of all time. It is a story of redemption for a hero that had fallen as low and deep as a man can go. This story is about his return and the steps he will take to start to redeem himself. You can't help but feel inspired by his journey. Also, it gives a much needed jolt to the Green Lantern mythos. I dare you to read this and not pick up the Green Lantern series afterwards. This is a must buy for all fans of comics.
This Book Is Packed! September 18, 2009 Douglas Theye Ace For those not up to snuff on their history of Hal Jordan, this book is both a good start and a confusing read. A good start, because it gives you a pretty good background on what has happened to the character for the past decade plus, yet also confusing because it is directed towards those who are already fans. Geoff Johns does a spectacular job of writing the character, giving him surprising depth. In the past he has sometimes been portrayed as just the cocky test pilot but there is some real emotional depth here. Ethan Van Sciver is the perfect man for illustrating these books, his style complements the space opera feel of Johns' writing. I would recommend this to both established Lantern fans as well as novices.
Everything you need to start becoming a GL fan. September 4, 2009 Nelson H. Pacheco (Miami, FL USA) Well there isn't much I can really say about how awesome this book was, other than it is a step in the right direction for anyone slightly interested in the GL mythos. I had no real prior knowledge of Green Lantern before reading this and after I finished it I was completely taken with the it. It also serves as a beginning book to those interested in the new "Blackest Night" series that is currently being pumped out by DC. If you like a good sci-fi story with a lot of heart and great action, start here like I did and before you know it, you will start reading the other Green Lantern Trades that follow this one through the Sinestro Corps. War into the Blackest Night.
Hal Restored July 24, 2009 A. Shapiro (Fl) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
For those of us who grew up with Hal, thi story did one thing that we waited so long for...it restored our hero. For that alone, it is worth a read, but the story is so much more. One of the most thought provoking and layered tales of the Green Lantern. This one has so many moments that you will remember, and does not simply ignore or wash away what has happened, but explains it in a way that not only makes sesne, but sets up a wide open field for today's creators. The art is really something else. Van Sciver catapults himself to superstar status with this book. For any fan of Hal Jorda or Green lantern, this is a must, must, MUST read
It's Incredible How Johns Explains & Expands On Key Aspects of the GL 40+ Year History July 10, 2009 ComicCollectorVzla 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This 6 Issue saga brings back Hal Jordan and does a wonderful job of explaining and expanding on key issues we have more than 40 years taking for granted with the GL Mythos. I can't say anything more because it would spoil the epic 6 issue journey. The Art is spectacular too! If you like comics, read it. I guarantee you'll enjoy it!!
