TMJ Self healing October 22, 2009 Dana R. Gill (Houston, TX) I bought this book to do research on my limited mouth opening after brain surgery. I am in the process of reading the book and am looking forward to trying the things suggested. No doctors have helped me so I decided to look for my own cure. I would recommend this book to anyone who suspects they have a TMJ issue.
An Absolute must for TMJD Sufferers. September 20, 2009 J. Ercul (USA) After suffering for at least 13 years with constant vertigo and phantom ear problems, I found the answer behind the symptoms. I had indepth testing of my ears and brain. No tumors and not even hearing loss even though my hearing was muffled. I was diagnosed with TMJD about 13 years ago but when I was told I had TMJD all that was said was I have a jaw disorder. I took it upon myself to read blogs of other TMJD sufferers and low and behold, there it was, the demand that people with this disorder must read this amazing book. It pin points trigger points and muscles and what they cause if they are in disstress. It gives exercises to help too. I love how it shows diagrams of muscles and explains the details of fascia and the workings of it all. It was short book packed with answers to long sot after questions of pain and medical issues that cannot be solved or founded. The author is a doctor who does not want surgery and pain killers and tries to help in the most common sensical way. Great book and I feel empowered and educated. It is nice to understand the workings of the amazing machine called our bodies but even more so when there is a problem. God Bless you Dr. Uppgaard for this wonderful book and those of you who suffer. There is hope!
It will solve the problem. September 17, 2009 C. Duncan (Dallas, TX USA) This book helped me in short order. I had a terrible case of TMJ and didn't know how in the world it developed. I read only a tiny bit and immediately recognized myself: I was overworked during that period and would fall asleep late at night sitting up at my computer, which caused my lower jaw to jut forward (not a pretty sight). I immediately stopped that and the TMJ went completely away, never to return. There are many other causes of TMJ covered in the book. I feel certain you'll discover the cause of yours.
Very informative March 4, 2009 Anne 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This book is very good. I think it will help with my TMJ. My chiropractor said it was very good.
Really taking control. October 11, 2008 V.T. Too (Moscow, ID USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I also found this book by accident: I was at the library while looking for books about shoulder pain and finger numbness. I was amazed to find out that my new pain was possibly related to my TMJ. My dentist, who I had once thought was excellent, sold me a very expensive night guard but never mentioned that a few exercises might immediately ease the pain in my jaw, lessen my headaches, and give me a sense that there is actually something that I could do to help myself. For helping me to understand the link between TMJ and other body pain and for giving me some tools to lessen that pain, I give this book 5 stars. (I am going to suggest to my dentist that he recommend this book to all his TMJ patients.)
