Product Description
More than two million people a week rush to SI.com to read Peter King's column, Monday Morning Quarterback. There they find a potent mix of analysis, opinion, humor and inside-the-NFL locker- room information delivered as no one else can. In this book, King, the award-winning Sports Illustrated pro football writer, brings the same blend of wit and wisdom, ranging from his famous "10 Things I Think I Think" to his Top 100 player rankings; from the football clichés he hates to the coaching hires he loves; from Brett Favre's golf game to Peyton Manning's comedic skills. And all freshly flavored with King's inimitable observations on the best hotels, the worst airports, the greatest traditions-and coffee, coffee, coffee. There is no journalist better connected to the NFL's players, coaches, general managers and owners, and no writer renders the inside information as entertainingly as Peter King.

About: A collection of pieces from King's Monday Morning Quarterback column from Sports Illustrated's web site.

Pros: I don't know much about the NFL but I liked this book. Funny, touching, lots of tidbits from the game.

Cons: Some pieces are more interesting than others.

Grade: B+

4 out of 5 stars The cure for the Football fan who thinks they know everything.   March 4, 2010
Dan Pieroni (Greenville, RI USA)
Very well-written book. Not just about football, but about life. King is a gifted writer who's apt to tell you which airports to avoid in the US as his is about the chaos that surrounded the 2004 NFL draft. A must read for Football junkies.

A wonderful compilation of the best of Peter King's weekly online columns. Light hearted and fun reading!

4 out of 5 stars Good, light reading   February 6, 2010

I'm a big football fan, and this book reads like an intimate conversation with another fan. It's a pleasant, quick read; I probably would've been better off checking it out of the library instead of buying it. I plan to pass it on to other football fans in my family.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent book about the NFL and life   January 20, 2010
David Pruette (USA)
Peter King is undoubtedly one of the best-known people in sports media covering the NFL. He writes for Sports Illustrated, does a Monday Morning Quarterback column for the CNNSI website, and participates each week during the season on NBC's Football Night in America. This book is a collection of some of his best efforts over the past ten years or so in his column on the website. Anybody who enjoys his work there on Monday mornings will love this book. He writes with humor, offers good analysis, and a wealth of behind the scenes information. He also provides the reader with interesting observations on hotels, airports, food, coffee etc., primarily in small sidebars on each page. Then every once in a while he will drop in a column about his daughters' athletic endeavors growing up or, in a particularly moving column, one about the death of a much loved family dog.

An excellent book for any fans of the NFL.
