| Editorial Reviews:
Product Description There is a dearth of literarure which informs the increasing phenomenon of how midwives care for women who are asylum seekers and refugees in the UK. Because of this, healthcare professionals are sometimes at a loss of how to engage with those who are deemed different by society. This book aims to generate a deeper understanding of how sensitive care may be promoted. The book will centre around the experiences of four women. By seeing midwifery care from the women's perspective a deeper sensitivity toward may be generated. The women's words were at times tragic, emotional, grateful, and happy; a range of emotions which drew a picture of how three women asylum seekers and one refugee felt during this time. The application of htis text is suitable for all those interested to understand more about caring for thise who are deemed different by society, all health care professionals especially those who care for women during childbirth continuum, and students of sociology and health.
