I bought several of these, I think it was 4 total. the 1st one broke in about 1 month and the 2nd broke in about 4 months. I'm not sure if the others are still working or if the people I gave them to are just too nice to tell me that they are junk!!

The item works as described. It really flattens hair, especially if you take the time to do it in sections; and reduces frizz. It can get really hot, so one has to try not touching the area around the ceramic plates while it is working or letting the flat iron get too close to ones scalp. It is also does not break hair and allows one to style the hair as desired.

I am in love with this straightener! I've only used the cheap straighteners before, and they just don't cut it with my hair. Now that I've seen how straight my hair gets with the CHI, I am addicted to it! It's definitely worth the money.

I do love the chi as far as getting my hair nice and smooth, however it catches my hair between the plate, pulling out hairs and hurting! I have to be very careful.. Never have this problem with my other (different brand) one. Anyone else have this problem?
