Perfect and made for the device.
Provides protection without getting in the way, in my mind the best one for the device.
It is slim and adds no real weight or bulk to your Kindle. If anything it makes the Kindle feel just right. The cover can be folded back on itself so it won't get in the way when you are reading.
All in all, it does what it is designed to do and at a reasonable price.

I am a bit rough on anything with a screen. My record for owning a cell phone withone is two weeks before the first scratch across the screen appears. This cover does it's job well.

It's a pity Amazon itself does only provide this leather case. Made of dead animals... :-(
There are other covers around, but you read stories about how they actually don't fit. So I prefer to buy from Amazon.
 Essential cover for the Kindle 2 November 21, 2009

This official cover for the Kindle 2 is actually an essential purchase if you want to keep your kindle safe and protected. It looks smart in black leather, if a little drab and fits the product perfectly. You can easily attach and detach the Kindle to it, which is great if you just want to read in bed etc as it can feel a little heavy after prolonged use. One concern I have was whether the two plastic clips that hold the Kindle in place are strong enough, but they haven't broke yet, so we'll see. All in all I think while the price is a premium, my kindle was hardly cheap! so don't be either and protect your investment (just wish it came with the Kindle as standard).
Functional, but unattractive November 21, 2009

This looks like something my dad would use. Personally, i'd like a pink or an orange cover. It's very functional, easy to use, the padding is nice, and I like the way the leather is starting to mellow a bit and to loosen up. I like the way I can fold the front cover back easily behind the Kindle, since that's how I like to read. It's just not very funky or modern -- it's like an Oldsmobile or something. If you can get a Dell computer in neon green, then why can't you get a more attractive Kindle cover? It looks a bit austere -- like a prayer book or something. Like something a Puritan would carry. Also, I'd like to be able to get it embossed with my name on it, or perhaps a clear sleeve in the front so I could embellish it with pictures and things. It just lacks pizazz and personality. Hey, just because we like to read doesn't make us just a bunk of geeks! Give us some style.
