Product Description The M-Edge e-Luminator2 booklight is the ultimate accessory for the Amazon Kindle. Based on the input of loyal M-Edge customers, this custom designed booklight has been developed to work seamlessly with the M-Edge Prodigy, Platform, Latitude, Icon and Halsea Jackets. The powerful light features a super-bright LED light bulb which provides ample illumination for the screen of the Reader while a mirrored reflector and optical quality lens disperses the light uniformly. The light is powered by a standard AAA battery (not included) with endurance enough for more than 20 hours of operation without dimming. The light is operated by a three position switch with two light intensity settings.A flexible and resilient steel neck allows the user to position the light in the desired direction.Perhaps the most impressive feature of this light is that it is designed to be stored via a slim support arm sized to match a pocket sewn into the back of many of M-Edge Jackets for the Amazon Kindle. The light pocket is conveniently located behind the Reader and does not interfere with the use of the Reader. When in the storage position, the light is located conveniently in the spine of the jacket so you can easily bring your light while on the go (for our Platform, Prodigy, Icon and Halsea jackets). For our Latitude Jacket, there is a storage pocket to easily place your e-Luminator when not in use.

First one did not work, replacement still not here November 23, 2009 PNWmom (Pacific Northwest) The shipping was slow with my original order, that light did not work, and the replacement has taken twice as long to arrive - so far.
Doesn't work for many reasons November 22, 2009 Carol (Saint Paul, MN) I have the M-Edge Latitude Kindle Jacket (Fits 6" Display, Latest Generation Kindle), Red w/ Black case and ordered this light to go with it. There's a cute pocket in the back of the case, so the case is definitely "light ready". However, this light was not made for this case. First, it has to be pulled out of the pocket in order to swivel. When pulled out and swiveled, the light pops out of it's socket and I have to pop it back in. I often have to reposition the gooseneck because it doesn't shed a broad enough light over the whole screen. The light itself has two different brightness settings, but for the life of me, I cannot discern any difference. Bummer. I threw away the packaging so I'm stuck with it. Can anyone suggest a better light?
I wanted to like it.... November 20, 2009 Jayme Harris (Houston, Tx) ...but I was disappointed. The gooseneck is too short by about an inch, to move it around to where it can light the whole screen. I have the m-edge "GO" Kindle cover and I slipped the light behind the right side of the Kindle (longways) as that seemed like the only place to put it. Besides being too short, only one light setting worked on mine. Don't know if it was the bright or low light setting, but it wasnt very bright. I do love the concept of it, small, lightweight & sleek, but I still think my clip on Might Brite lite performs better. Properly working, I think this should be about an $8 light. I'm sending mine back.
No perfect booklight November 19, 2009 Denise Martin (Crystal River, FL) I have had a lot of booklights and now I've bought both available specifically for my Kindle 2. The quality is good; it's nice that it only uses one battery which keeps it very light weight and there are two light settings to save on batteries; it matches my Kindle; the neck is very bendable; and it tucks in nicely behind a Kindle in a jacket. This might be a problem for some people if you don't have a close-fitting jacket for your Kindle. My M-Edge jacket (without the closure) doesn't have a pocket to slide the light into, which is ok for me because I just slide it between the Kindle and the jacket, but if you don't have a jacket there is no way you could hold this on your Kindle so you should buy the other one with the clip Mighty Bright XtraFlex2 Clip-On Light (Black, Kindle Version). Also, I can't close the jacket with my light inside (on the left) but I could close the jacket if my light was on the right. As with all booklights, you will get a hot spot from the light on the page, so you just have to adjust the light direction.
I've had a problem, though. The battery doesn't seem to be connecting with the contacts and after a little while each time I use it, the light quits. I've tried new batteries, of course, which didn't help so I mailed the light back to the company as per the warranty and am waiting for the replacement. If this doesn't work out well I'll let you know, but I'm not expecting any problems. Otherwise, this is as good as any booklight I've tried.
Nice November 18, 2009 T. McPherson For me, this light is just right as far as brightness. It clearly illuminates the Kindle reading area but does not go much beyond that. It isn't much use as a flashlight, but that's not what it's made for. The light isn't bright enough to be a distraction, and the swivel adjusts to remove glare on the screen. I just can't quite swivel it enough to remove the bulb from my view and still have the light where I need it, but I am adjusting to that. The only thing I don't like about it is the off position is in the middle of the switch instead of on one end, so I have to pay a little too much attention to getting it properly turned off as I am putting it down to sleep. I have noticed like others have commented that there isn't much difference in the light intensity of the two settings, so it is even more of a waste that I have to fiddle with this. Other than that, I have found that I actually use the light more than I thought I would since it is so convenient. I am so glad I went with this product.
