Product Description Grilling authority, Steven Raichlen, host of the popular cooking series Barbecue University and author of the best-selling Barbecue Bible cookbook series, partnered with The Companion Group to create a fabulous line of innovative, versatile barbecue products. Use the Best of Barbecue Insulated Rubber Gloves for "pulling" (shredding) piping hot pork shoulders and other foods hot off the grill. These gloves are lighter and more flexible for greater dexterity, but well insulated to shield your hands from the hot meat.

barbecue gloves January 17, 2010 L. Nguyen I like the insulation. It really protects your hands, but if you have small hands it can be hard to grasp things with it.
White == Dirty January 11, 2010 M. Hemingway (Los Angeles) These get dirty and nasty looking pretty quickly. Which means if you have guests over and are touching meat with them, that could be a little awkward. I tried everything I could to clean them but apparently pork butt can stain them pretty good.
not useful December 16, 2009 Kanga (Connecticut) These gloves aren't made for real high-temp work like on a grill or smoker (300 F, 400 F, etc) - just touching hot food (which is more like 160 F).
For that, they are way oversized and very stiff - I normally wear men's large gloves and my hands were swimming in them - I couldn't use any sort of tool that required anything more than a clinched fist to manipulate it.
I guess these gloves might be useful for someone who wears mens' XL gloves (or maybe even larger).
False advertising October 4, 2009 A. Majerowicz (Santa Fe, NM) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I ordered these for my husband's birthday because he needed a pair of grilling gloves. When I received the package and read the box, the product cautions that these gloves are to be used ONLY with hot food. So much for manning the smoker. Sure, he will use these to pull piping hot pork and shred steaming brisket, but if you are looking for something to use while BBQ-ing, find another pair. I wish the product overview would have made this clear.
OK but there are better BBQ gloves. October 2, 2009 J. Hollis (Arlington, TX) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I do quite a bit of smoking meat and they do well with the heat issue but they are very slippery so handling greasy meat is not easy plus they stain. I throw them in the washing machine but some stains stay on them. I would not think you could use these on high heat grilling jobs but for real BBQ low and slow they work OK.
I just purchased similar gloves from TexasBBQrub and they are black so won't show stains as bad and they are textured so not as slippery and they cost the same as these.
