Best News Magazine on the Market November 6, 2009 Book Addict My husband and I have gotten so disgusted with Time magazine and Newsweek that we're delighted to have a magazine like The Weekly Standard available. USNews and World Report at least attempted to be more objective but now it's published in print form only once a month. For our money, The Weekly Standard, with its incisive articles, stands head and shoulders above all the rest of them. Kudos to the staff. We'll not renew any other news magazine subscriptions.
Good for keeping up on corporate PR October 16, 2008 Preston C. Enright (Denver, CO United States) 1 out of 11 found this review helpful
The Weekly Standard is where the advocates of militarism and corporatism share the thoughts cobbled together by various industry lawyers, think tanks, and PR agents PR! - A Social History of Spin.
It is regularly promoted through other avenues of right-wing cultism, like the Limbaugh show and all the little Limbaughs Echo Chamber: Rush Limbaugh and the Conservative Media Establishment.
Like any propaganda, it should be monitored to see how the spin doctors of the right-wing establishment are deceiving those who subscribe to the values of elitism, imperialism, and other ugly aspects of the American empire Killing Hope: U.S. Military and C.I.A. Interventions Since World War II-Updated Through 2003.
For people who are interested in the real world, I'd recommend:

Weekly Standard - a MUST for conservatives! September 8, 2008 Donald C. Smith (Smyrna, GA United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I cannot go a week without my Weekly Standard (well maybe the 2 weeks they seem to take vacation in the summer) I would recommend it to even my liberal friends (if they were open-minded enough to read it!)
Great magazine ((Too bad they don't make it available in Canada)) August 28, 2008 Winston (Canada) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful

price January 28, 2007 Elizabetth M. Watson (California) 3 out of 5 found this review helpful
I ordered two subscriptions as Xmas gifts at $48.00 each.
In January I ordered a gift subscription from the publisher on the net and the cost was only $36.00.
That is quite a difference. Of course I will look more carefully in the future when ordering books etc.
