Amazon does it again... Charge for a freebie that should've stayed free January 5, 2010 Kevin Maze (Montgomery, AL United States) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Okay, here it is: This is a six-track CD of dance trance ambient electro pop, a couple of which have an Eastern feel to them. Slap a statue on it, call it "Buddha Lounge" and voila! Instant karma. But that's not what attracted me to this sampler (I don't do the Buddha). It was suggested when I downloaded an MP3 of relaxing songs and this one sounded pretty good. But it was Free when I downloaded that, but now they're charging for it (how many times have I had to write that on reviewing samplers?). So here's the deal: For free, it's an okay download. For six bucks... hey, it's your money.
Great Idea! December 14, 2009 Nova I love this idea of Amazon offering a sampler of the Buddha Lounge album. The Buddha Lounge series offers a wonderful collection of songs that are perfect for relaxing without making you feel like you are hearing the same monotonous rhythms over and over.
This holiday season, I have already hosted a few baking parties for friends to come over and bake gifts (cookies, cakes, etc.) and after the first two hours, I was finished (as were my guests) with the same jingle bells, ho ho ho, and mistletoe festive music I had put on as background music. I took a chance and threw on the relaxing lounge music this series has to offer and it was a hit! Sure its not the traditional music you might here this time of year, but I have found it really sets a relaxing mood in a room full of friends!
The really great thing is that you can get these albums as MP3 downloads. So, if you are planning on having a few friends over tonight for some fresh baked cookies, wine, and laughter, give this a try.
Check out some of the other albums in this series too, these two are my favorites so far...

Lovely...Soothing December 10, 2009 BelleZora (Spokane, WA USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
At first I was not particularly impressed with this, but the music has grown on me to the point where I play it almost everyday as relaxing background. It is sort of a very soothing smooth jazz. It is not music I choose to focus on completely after the first hearing. If you like background music to contribute to a sense of tranquility (yet not put you to sleep) while possibly lowering your blood pressure, this is probably a good choice.
Nice tunage for a relaxing background effect. November 22, 2009 GMCM West (Coronado, CA) 9 out of 11 found this review helpful
I have never really liked this sort of music nor am I a Buddhist. However; I try and listen to all forms of music with an open mind. Most of what is "churned" out today, I don't give another thought to. This collection was not what I expected. (I am learning more and more that none ever really is!) I passed it up at first, but kept coming back to it. There is something about these tunes that put me into a very tranquil state of mind. About the 6TH time back to listen, I downloaded each song.
I arranged them in what I call my; "Mellow Spin" list of songs. I play this list in my PC room while I work on Disabled American Veterans' claim forms. I was working on a particularly difficult and close to home case, when my wife came into the "Bat Cave." (My PC/Office room at home - rightly named!) She had heard these tunes play and noticed that I had kept replaying them. She sat and listened. Well, now they are on her machine and I am burning her a mix CD of my; "Mellow Spin" list.
My conclusion: All religious aspects aside, this is a SAWEEEET collection of songs. Get them, NOW. Spin them while you are working, you will be much calmer and relaxed.
Regards,
Gunner
