When is a clock not just a clock? When it provides so much more than just the time: temperature, phase of the moon, and accuracy within one second per year, for example. This handsome wall clock, with its dual LCD screens and black-accented oak finish, is an example of household life being enhanced by science. The WS-8117U can hang on the wall or stand freely, with a built-in, fold-out stand. Radio-controlled time (to the hour, minute, and second) and date are prominently displayed, along with indoor and outdoor temperatures measured in either Fahrenheit or Celsius. The day of the week can be displayed in English, French, Spanish or German. Time can be displayed in 12- or 24-hour modes, and time zones from Greenwich Mean Time to -12 GMT can be selected, with three-letter identifications for US time zones. An alarm feature is useful as a timer, and, if the clock happens to hang or stand near a bed (or a couch that's used for napping), a snooze feature allows for gradual wake-up. Moon phase shows in twelve increments, from new moon, through gibbous and crescent phases (waxing and waning), to quarter and finally full moon. The clock comes with La Crosse transmitter TX37U-IT. Clock and transmitter each operate on two AA batteries. For options in wall mounting, three screws and screw anchors and a strong adhesive tape are included. This clock is disappointing. It does not give the correct outdoor temperature. Indoor temp and time is fine. I have purchased other clocks like this that have given the right outdoor and indoor temperatures. I bought this clock as a gift and that is most disappointing that it does not display the correct outdoor temperature.

This was a replacement for an eight year old clock. The only reason it was changed was the failure of the outdoor temp sensor. The price was fair and delivery good. I will continue to be an Amazon customer.

I had to replace a very old LaCrosse Atomic Clock that we loved! This one is just as much fun, has a few additional features and is great to own. It gives us the indoor and outdoor temperatures as well as the time, date, day and moon phases. We really use it many times a day so it is in a perfect place - the eating area of the kitchen. We depend on the temperatures to know how we need to dress before going out. It's a handsome clock and comes in other wood finishes as well as a metal cabinet. I highly recomend it.

Easy to read, and set up. It is larger than I expected, but is still very nice.
