Holds water October 16, 2009 R. Hill It was delivered in a timely manner and does a reasonable job of hold my umbrella down. I have just filled the thing with water for now but I thinks sand would be better. No real complaints at this time.
umbrella base September 12, 2009 S. Clark (Missouri, USA) The Umbrella base fitted perfect. Filled with water it would be almost impossible to fall. The only problem I have is closing the lid.
Great, functional product August 28, 2009 Brent W. Burkey Great price for item compared to anywhere else. Works well with sand or water. Very functional. I little hard to move when filled with water, but there are wheels at the one side to facilitate...
umbrella base August 11, 2009 Naomi Hara It is very good idea to have this big and heavy base for offset umbrella.
Solid offset umbrella base August 7, 2009 kltchltt 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The base performs as expected holding the offset umbrella down even in pretty stiff winds. The construction how ever had a few issues. First, the cap to seal the unit once you add either water or sand was very tough and would not close. I had to really work on it to get it to close, but was finally successful. Then, moving it into position after filling was a chore. The wheels/axle are not very sturdy and one wheel on the end bent a little making the move more difficult. Should probably put the unit in place and then fill it with your water or sand and not rely on moving if after you do so. Otherwise, the unit functions for its intended purpose very well. Just need to beef up the quality control on the wheels/axle and closing cap a little. I would recommend the unit so long as you heed the above notes.
