My son-in-law convinced my son to try these. Then he convinced me. This has been my favorite casual shoe for 4 years and I'm on my second pair. They're comfortable from the start and wear like iron. Great for airports (slip off, slip on) and work well for light hiking. I recommend you prep them with 2-3 coats of Nubuck Suede Protectant -- that makes them nearly stain- and water-proof. A great shoe all around.

Inside of the shoe is very comfortable. Heel design is not so great - more personal preference. Red strip on the back stands out too much.

My 9-year-old son has been hooked on wearing the dark purple Merrell Jungle Moc shoes for at least 3 years now. He loves the color (which never fades), he loves the durability (which is simply astonishing given the wear and tear he puts on shoes!), he loves that they are slip-ons (we live in Oregon, so shoes come off at the door before you come inside...), and he loves that they are so comfortable. They also stand up really well in rainy weather and have fantastic traction on wet pavement.
Yes, he has gone through brief phases where he wears tennis-shoes for awhile (usually if he's out-grown his Merrells and we haven't had a chance to order a new pair yet) and they never last even a fraction the length of time the Merrells do. We figure it's like buying florescent lightbulbs... they are more expensive at first, but they will save you money in the long run! They are worth every penny, I promise!
