The musical Let's Go Fishin' game is a test for the eyes, hands, ears, and patience. As the pond circles the base (to the tune of "Row, Row, Row Your Boat") see how many more colorful fish you can catch than your fellow players. The trick is that the fish are moving up and down as they circle, as well opening and closing their mouths. Can you time it just right and bring home dinner? This game for one to four players includes four fishing poles, the musical game base (which can rotate with or without music), 21 colorful fish, and complete instructions. Requires two AA batteries (not included). --Heather Hawkins

4 out of 5 stars Great kid's game for hand-eye coordination   February 25, 2010
Amy Mcfarland (California)
I had this game when I was a child, so when I saw it recently at Target I bought it for my son. The age recommendation starts at 4, but I think this game is great for children even a little younger. My son just turned 3 and he's already a pro! It's great for hand-eye coordination, counting and colors. We make a little game out of not just catching the fish, but catching three green in a row, etc., so we can work on our math at the same time.
With this game the "pond" turns in a circle around the main base, and 21 fish move up and down, opening and closing their mouths, while it turns. It turns fairly quickly, so each player has a pretty limited amount of time in which to sneak in and "hook" a fish. The main page says this plays "Row, row, row your boat", but mine has no music. The box looks exactly the same as the one pictured here - maybe the music was something offered in earlier games.
Either way, this is a terrific game for families to play together. My son absolutely loves it, and I can have fun too!

5 out of 5 stars Fishing Game   February 4, 2010
josie (Staten Island, NY USA)
This was a good game to play with my grandchildren. It helped them learn their colors and how to count not to mention patience in getting a fish on their hook. I also used the game at a baby shower. The adults liked the challenge.

1 out of 5 stars Disappointed:(   January 11, 2010

We got this toy for Christmas for our little girl and we just opened it for game night for the first time. Put a new battery in it and turned it on but all it did was make the motorized noise. Tried another brand new battery from a different pack and it did the same thing. My daughter is making the best of it and just fishing anyways but you can't actually play the game so she was pretty disappointed.

4 out of 5 stars Lots of fun but cheap plastic   December 20, 2009
A. Wiersch (Lantana, TX USA (near Dallas))
Pros:
* Inexpensive
* Lots of fun
* Even older kids and adults can have a little fun with it

Cons:
* Very cheaply made (minus one star for this)
* Only one speed - may be a little too fast for younger kids

Other:
* Uses 1 C battery
* Introduced my 3 year old to "cheating" as he figured out how to stop it from spinning while he caught a fish :)
* MADE IN CHINA

4 out of 5 stars fishy fun   December 19, 2009

this is for our 3 year old. trying to fish with the poles promotes eye/hand coordination. she loves games, but board games are sometimes too hard to understand or she doesn't have the patience for them. this is perfect and we can play it together.
