 Patches likes his new leash September 22, 2009

Patches, my chocolate and white cocker spaniel, is enjoying his new brown leather leash. We walk to the park and he may not know that this is new - but he does enjoy the walks. And I enjoy taking him more now than with his old blue leash. I plan to enjoy this for a long time.

Product is a little misleading or at least the picture is. This leash is actually made of fabric on one side and leather(thin) on the other. Leash is kind of sturdy, I don't think it will break, only time will tell. But if you are looking for a full leather leash, this is not it! I would have given a 5 star if the leather is thicker.

At first we bought a flexi-leash for our lab puppy when he was little. As soon as we took him to a puppy class the instructor said, because he's very strong, he needs a wide collar, and a wide leash, double stitched for durability. This AKC leash and the matching collar are exactly like that. It has brown leather on one side, and a golden nylon strip on the other, for extra strength. The satin brass hardware is large and well rounded, and matches well in color with the leash. It is 6 feet long, the perfect length for walking/training your dog on lead. This is a quality leash that will last for a long time.
