5 out of 5 stars My dog loves her car seat!   November 17, 2009
Space / Lift (Phoenix, AZ)
This car seat is perfect! I previously got a cheaper one and the straps broke very quickly. Also, I love that there are no straps in front like the other car seat I had and this one is really sturdy. It also feels much safer having her in a seat. This one fits in the back pilot seat of my car so I keep it in there all the time. My dog is so calm when she's in her seat and she loves to be able to look out the window. She's 14 lbs. and I got the extra large which allows her to comfortably lie down during the trip. In fact, last weekend she slept for two hours in the seat during a long drive home. I put extra blankets in there for her to make it more comfortable and to boost her up a bit higher since the car seat is rather deep.

5 out of 5 stars Best Dog Car Seats on the market   October 30, 2009

1 out of 1 found this review helpful

My husband and I purchased 2 of these "XL" seats for our rat terriers (15lbs and 20lbs each) and could not be happier. After trying many different brands and designs (Outward Hound seat, seat belt harness cover, etc.) we chose the Solv-it pet booster seat. The main reasons why I like these seats are:
1) Elevated baskets. The dogs can see out the window. This was extremely important b/c our puppy would get car sick when i held him on my lap or when we put him in his crate in the back of the car. He has never gotten sick since using this car seat. Also, we lent a seat to one of our friends whose dog has gotten sick on every car ride (even short ones!. For the first time ever, the dog did not throw up while in this seat.
2) The dogs are safe & secure. The dogs wear a harness which attaches to a short, adjustable strap that attaches to the seat/basket. They can lie down, stick their heads out the window, or just sit and enjoy the view...but they cannot get out of the seat/basket and are safe when making sharp turns and quick stops. Also the seats are very sturdy and the straps that go around the actual/human car seat and headrest really secure the dog seat/basket tightly to the back of the actual/human seat.
3) The size of seats. We've found that size charts on dog car seats are often not true to life. The XL size is perfect for our dogs - they have plenty of room to lie down. We have put them both in one car seat/basket, but it's a little tight for them.
4) Car trips are fun, easy, and enjoyable. I take these dogs everywhere now! Drive thrus, dog parks, vet, and to visit friends and family. The dogs are completely entertained and I don't have 35lbs of dog squirming on my lap for a view out the window. It's a win-win.

Additional note: the inner lining is machine washable, which is great.

I would recommend this product to anyone, just be careful what size you order!

5 out of 5 stars Exactly what I wanted   October 21, 2009
S. Marrero (North Carolina)
This booster seat was purchased for our Westie. We always secured her harness to the seat but didn't think it was safe enough. She took to it immediately. She sits high enough to see out the sides and the front windows. It's well padded and also looks good. I do have to secure it to my front seat as the back seat doesn't have a head rest or bucket seats. If I took the time I probably could figure out how to secure it to the back but she's a front seat dog anyhow !

5 out of 5 stars Great car seat for my pups!   October 12, 2009
C. Mason (Texas, USA)
I have 2 pomeranians, 10 and 12 pounds, and this seat works great for both of them! I read the reviews before I purchased and some talked about the weak strap, but they have added a stronger one and so far it has worked fine. They used to ride in the front seat and I had to constantly field them off of my lap and try to get them to sit still. My youngest gets car sick in a crate so I felt stuck. Now they can see out the window, see me, and are safely harnessed in their seat. I am thrilled with this purchase!!!

5 out of 5 stars Solvit "Solved It"!   October 3, 2009
Caliee (Mesa, Az USA)
Our 7 month old energetic puppy prompted me to purchase the Solvit Booster Seat. We have had the seat for about 5 weeks now, and we are VERY happy with it. I purchased a harness from PetSmart ([...]), and I find both products work quite well together. Our puppy loves being able to look out all the windows, so a harness with an attachment that swivels works especially well. Like other reviewers, I do find the strap that holds the seat to the headrest does slip, and until I put a clasp on it to keep it in place, I had to readjust it daily. Other than that, I feel the seat is well made, and worth every penny.
