Smaller than perceived November 20, 2009

The carrier arrived quickly, and looked well-constructed for the purpose. The only problem is that nowhere on Amazon was mentioned in the description the recommended animal size. I consider a cat to be a 'small' animal, so I got the small carrier. It was only when I received it that it seemed a little too small, and on the packaging was it written that it was recommended for animals up to 10-lbs. Imagine my surprise when the 15-lb. cat I just adopted didn't fit in it, rendering the carrier useless.
I cannot fault the quality of the carrier. I just wish Amazon had printed the weight limits on its website and I would've ordered the large carrier.
If you own a teeny cat, teacup chihuahua, or a big guinea pig, the 'small' one would work. Otherwise, I recommend you get the 'large' carrier (and that Amazon prints the weight restrictions on that as well. Those little pictures do not give you a good representation of the size of what you are buying!) If I had gotten the right sized carrier, it would've worked perfectly for me.

it was too small, but i guess that was more my mistake for not reading the description enough and measuring the cat.. Also, the seat belt loop is a bit ridiculous. The version before had two velcro straps that fit to the bottom of the seat belt but this one is just one big loop in the middle that doesn't fit the belt well. I returned this one and bought the $48 older version at petsmart.

This was a great cat carrier for us. We only used it once because it will be the last time we ever carry our cat. (She hates being carried.) We had to take her as a carry-on from California to North Carolina and it was hard. She cried and peed and was then wet and smelly. But the back was great and kept her contained. Probably better for a smaller pet.
