My 3-year-old daughter loves this book, walking around the house with it and asking to read it every night at bedtime for a couple of months now. We watched "Nutcracker on Ice" and, having read this book, she was able to make connections and understand it a little.
I love this book because the pop-up details go far beyond any other pop-up I've ever seen. It has details on the back and even inside some of the pop-ups. And it is sturdy enough that it has held together quite well under my daughter's loving "attention". In addition, the story itself is told in a short, understandable way.
I would recommend this book for anyone who would like a delightful and simple introduction to the Nutcracker.

I bought this book for my 4-year-old after seeing the ballet in person. She just loves the book and wanted to share it with all of her friends. The book is positively beautiful and the text is just enough for a pre-schooler's attention span. I've never seen a pop-up book quite like this one. I highly recommend it!

This is a beautiful book. It is viewable from all sides and is marvelous for helping children (andadults) learn the story behind the ballet.
