Editorial Reviews:

Product Description

This newly revised paramedic specific book has been developed to meet the needs of a paramedic program and the interests of trained EMS workers, covering appropriate A&P as well as specific clinical applications. It will enable readers to develop their problem solving skills, build a foundation of basic concepts and essential knowledge, and master terminology and principles important to an understanding of the human body. Chapter topics cover an introduction to anatomy and physiology; the chemical level of organization; cell structure and function; the tissue level of organization; the integumentary, skeletal, muscular, and endocrine systems; the general and special senses; the cardiovascular system including individual chapters on blood, the heart, and blood vessels and circulation; the lymphatic system and immunity; nutrition and metabolism; the respiratory, digestive, urinary, and reproductive systems; and development and inheritance. New to this edition are Key Notes that call out core concepts in anatomy and physiology through out the book. These factual statements are highlighted with an icon and appear at appropriate points throughout the chapters. Paramedics
