Amazon.com Review It's not easy for duck parents to find a safe place to bring up their ducklings, but during a rest stop in Boston's Public Garden, Mr. and Mrs. Mallard think they just might have found the perfect spot--no foxes or turtles in sight, plenty of peanuts from pleasant passers-by, and the benevolent instincts of a kindly police officer to boot. Young readers will love the mother duck's proud, loving protection of her wee webbed ones, and those with fond memories of Boston will enjoy familiar locales, from Beacon Hill to Louisburg Square, and over the Charles River--often from a duck's-eye view. Robert McCloskey, creator of Blueberries for Sal, never fails to elicit happy story-time giggles from youngsters, and his soft, brown-toned, Caldecott-winning illustrations make this gentle world come alive. (Ages 3 to 8) --Karin Snelson

Classic Children's Books Are The Best October 5, 2009 Peggy R (Minnesota, USA) I haven't seen this book in a hard cover edition in years! Love it! I bought it as a gift for a 1 year old and I am glad I bought more than 1 copy. (Maybe I will be a grandma some day). This story and also "Blueberries for Sal" are among my own childhood favorites. Now they remind me of a gentler story time. It has no "whiz bang" hyper speed of so many of today's children's stories. I would recommend this lovely book to anyone who wants a quality book that can be read repeatedly to many children.
Love this book!!! October 5, 2009 E (Austin Tx area) I remember watching Captain Kangaroo and he read this book. I am 55 years old. I can't wait to give this book to my 1 year old grandson. I'm sure he will love it too.
Make Way for Ducklings: Excellent Condition September 12, 2009 E. Souza (Amherst, MA United States) Book was as advertised, promptly sent. Like new condition, and suitable for a gift.
Fond Childhood Memories September 8, 2009 swans6250 My mother would read this to me then take me to the site in Boston the book talks about and we would "make way for the ducklings". I shared it with my kids and now I'll share it with my grandson.
Timeless Story, a must for any parent's library July 17, 2009 jag4723 (The Heart of it all) This story is timeless, as is the message of parental love. Every parent should have a copy of this and read it to their children.
