Product Description USMLE Step 3 Triage emphasizes high yield exposure to relevant facts, clinical tools, and authoritative guidelines that will be tested on the USMLE Step 3 exam. With its concise emphasis on the most tested subjects and no-nonsense approach to disease, this book is the only review you'll need. USMLE Step 3 Triage reviews all the relevant knowledge needed to not just pass Step 3, but to excel at it. Written by a physician who has made a study of optimal preparation strategies for Step 3, the book reviews medicine in a concise, easily assimilated manner without skimming the important details of each heading. Each subject heading is specifically taken from the USMLE's own "problem/disease" list to avoid needless studying of unemphasized subjects and to focus on those relevant areas that will get the most exposure on the test. On subjects such as diabetes, hypertension, statistics, and others that are heavily tested, extra emphasis is placed to allow the reader an in-depth and focused review of what is really important. Clinical tools and relevant facts are highlighted in each heading to ensure that clinical "pearls" are not missed. In applicable areas, authoritative guidelines are summarized and specifically stated so that the field's recommendations are easily known. For anyone preparing to take the USMLE Step 3, studying for a similar exam, reviewing for boards, or for simple re-exposure to general medicine, this is the book that will put you over the top!

Has its pros and cons.. June 15, 2009 Jijoe Joseph (NY) When I first picked up this book i was impressed but the quality of print. It is printed very sturdy as not to rip which was a plus right off the bat. The price was very right for my first impression, I can say this with no hesitation. As I perused the book further, I found it missing some of the KEY information that is tested on step 3. I find it a great book if you need an adjunct book for guidelines, the author has done a very good job at that, however, to answer the board favorite question, what is the next best test, most accurate step etc. it does not do a great job at all. It is decent for theory of high yield topics, like I said, as an adjunct to another source, or for night time light reading, however it would not be good as a primary source. I rank it higher than First aid, but for me, Master the Boards was a more worthwhile investment. Just my two cents!
Excellent, much better than First Aid April 7, 2009 ICU Blood Gas Doctor (USA) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is the best USMLE Step3 book on the market. Period. The author should be commended. He has taken an aggressive this is what you need to know approach . I really like the quality of the questions too. Would be nice to have more questions online .
Highly Recommend March 15, 2009 Graceunderfire (Maryland) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This is a very good book. I've spent money on Kaplan, Crush, First Aid etc and can say-this is (by far) my go-to one. It focuses more on diagnosis/treatment and doesn't have a lot of unrelated trivia, it just tells you what the committees recommend (like ACOG, ADA, etc). It has some questions in the text but their actual practice questions-and there's a free website with more questions (I don't think you even have to buy the book for the website). Seems like the important subjects are outlined a lot more, too (concise and relevant goes a long way in test prep). Personally, I want a book that takes the content for the test, distills it to what is tested the most, and gives a solid review. Triage does that better than any of the others. Take it from someone that knows (and spent too much finding out), this book is really very impressive.
Good Review March 5, 2009 salsterz (Chicago, IL) 1 out of 4 found this review helpful
This is a very good review book, however it is not as complete as one would like it to be. I like the glossy paper and the color pictures. The content is thorough. A good investment if you have the money.
Step 3 Triage January 29, 2009 Olubunmi Ojelade (Wayne NJ) 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
very concise, written with a Family Medicine background in mind. Deals with the common concepts likely to be found on the Step 3 of the USMLE. Perfect for review ONLY after having studied larger texts.
