Product Description Spot has been very busy, and it's time to get ready for bed. After a bath and drying off in his warm, fuzzy towel, Spot chooses a favorite book for a bedtime story. | Customer Reviews: Great bedtime story for the littlest readers October 31, 2007 Rachel Kendall (Lexington, KY United States) We have been reading this book as a bedtime story for my 10-month-old son since he was 7 months old and he LOVES it. He giggles as soon as I get it out and he loves to turn the pages himself. It's just the right size for him to hold, as well. He listens to other small board books, but this one is definitely his favorite. I think he loves the bold colors, simple text and soothing story. He knows after this book, it's time for sleep. We originally checked it out of the library, but I'm now buying it to add to our own library.
great for young readers too May 20, 2007 Robin Lapre (tenn) My children loved spot board books as toddlers. I am so glad we saved them because now that my son is in kindergarten, I have found that these books are great "early reader" books. They have a nice story and nice pictures and simple sentences with commonly used words. They are great for building confidence. In contrast, I have been very disappointed by the Scholastic early reader series and the Step Into Reading series because the sentences are often too long or complicated and I find the word choices much too difficult for early readers. And the Bob book series is OK for easy words but the stories are mediocre. I instead am just going to get more Eric Hill books as they are fun to read and instill confidence in my young readers.
Very good book to travel with July 7, 2002 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
This is a wonderful book to read to your little one. I have a 10 month old that loves to hear this story. This book is fairly small so that I can just place it in her diaper bag and take it out when she gets cranky while we are out and about.
A classic good night puppy story June 2, 2001 Heather Walton (Chico, CA) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
My 9-month-old has loved this book since she was a newborn. It is short and simple, but the pages have bright colors with the cute puppy preparing for bed. He plays, baths, picks out a book and his parents read him to sleep. A classic that all babies should have in their library.
Goodnight Spot May 8, 2000 6 out of 7 found this review helpful
This a wonderful book to use as a bed time story. Children can see that even Spot has to go to bed when he is tired. It will help them see that they need to get into the habit of going to bed when they are tired.
