From the mother of the `king of tantrums' in the local supermarket long ago, I do believe you're going to love this one! November 7, 2009 D. Fowler (Vermont) Llama Llama is having fun playing on the floor with his blocks, his puzzle and his trucks when Mama Llama pops in the doorway, keys in hand, to announce that they are going to do some shopping. Oh, no . . . no can do, but Mama Llama is out in the car getting his seat ready. The car ride put him right to sleep. ZZZZZ! All of a sudden when Mama Llama yelled out, "Wake up! Wake up! Here we are!" one of his eyes opened while the other just drooped. He clutched his baby llama while Mama Llama pushed the cart into the Shop-O-Rama. This was not going to be a very good day!

Mama Llama tried clothes on him, picked out an assortment of groceries, but didn't notice one little thing . . . Llama Llama was getting ready to have a big TANTRUM!
This story in rhyme was one hysterically funny story that most parents of very young children can relate to. As parents it is necessary to shop now and then with tiny tots and not always with successful results. In Mama Llama's case her toddler decided the Shop-O-Rama was as good a place as any to let loose. The artwork was adorable and caught every little nuance of Llama Llama's telling eye movements from the sleepy and droopy to the "I'm gonna get mad" any minute look. From the mother of the `king of tantrums' in the local supermarket long ago, I do believe you're going to love this one!
LOVE this book! Can't wait to get the rest! October 26, 2009 Kim (USA) Got this book last year thru my daughters preschool and I have to say it quickly became a household favorite. I have read it so many times, I have it memorized. I just ordered the misses momma and red pajama ones today and can't wait to start reading them to my daughters! HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK!
My 19 month old loves this book! October 20, 2009 J. A. Mosely (Southern California) My daughter LOVES this book and asks for it all day long. She certainly identifies with the story - I get "socks...shoes...puffs" every time we get into a shopping cart now. And the best part - I get a kiss on my cheek every time we get to the "...at least I'm here with you" part of the story.
I understand the concerns of some other reviewers when it comes to rewarding bad behavior. But I think the fact that little llama stops his tantrum and helps set things right is the best lesson of all. I would much rather my daughter recognize her bad behavior and correct it, than me drag her out of the store screaming day after day.

is this really how you want your children to act? if so, read it to them and then do what mama llama does! it has a good beat and nice pictures, but the moral of the story is to be bad, have mom wrapped around your finger and then get ice cream. really????? after llama llama red pajama was so great, with discipline and learning ending, my husband and i were so disappointed!
Joy-to-read August 31, 2009 Ann W (Columbus OH) This book is fabulous! My daughter loves reading it. She often quotes the book and reminds her baby sister not to cause any llama drama.
