Great flash cards for babies November 17, 2009 Girl n Basketball (Los Angeles, CA) First I purchased the baby Einstein flash cards but I notice that the cards were too busy and my son couldn't focus on one object. He ended up just chewing on the cards. Then I purchased DK Publishing brand which are more simple. Now my baby focuses on the object and points to it with his finger, then chews on the cards.
Over all this is a great product for kids ages 5 months and up.
Very nice but could be better November 6, 2009 Sunshine (New York, NY) You wouldn't think it would be that hard to find decent flash cards out there for babies/young toddlers with good card stock and a nice design, but it is! These are the best I can find.
That being said, I'm annoyed that in this particular set, DK includes a "puppy" and a "kitten" instead of a "dog" and a "cat." Young toddlers can't distinguish these baby animals from their adult versions, so why create confusion? The First Words' set includes a dog and a cat. Why doesn't this one? All of the other animals in this set are adult-- "cow," (not "calf"), "sheep" (not "lamb").
Also, the coloring of my zebra is more tan than white on the card, with the touch/feel part being a true white. The elephant looks compressed on the card and should be larger. Young kids are always taught that elephants are really big, so it would be nice if the elephant didn't look about the same size as the other animals in the set.
nice but... September 23, 2009 jadegal (ca) like the thick material these are made in...but some pictures can be improved...too many greys and whites...need more color to keep kids engaged..
also, after a few minutes of the bb putting the edges in her mouth, I noticed there's a definite sign of wear and tear...
first time mom September 11, 2009 cita581 (brooklyn, ny United States) these cards are great! i have a seven month old son and the big pictures and colors really catch his attention plus in back of each card they have questions you can ask your child and also a translation of the picture in like three different languages!
You won't be disappointed May 5, 2009 Zeesmama (TX) These cards are well worth the investment! Small price to pay for a high quality product. The materials used to create these cards is durable to withstand my 18mo. old. They keep her attention and she asks for more:o)The colors are great, the visual images are true to the actual object. The suggestions on the back of each individual card are a nice bonus=D Each card has a specific texture relative to the word for children to feel. Don't hesitate these truly are awesome cards!
