Text needed for 300-level Biology of Cancer class February 3, 2010 Beth I've already read chapters 1-4 of this text and have found it one of the easiest to read textbooks I have ever owned! The authors present the material in such a manner that it stimulates interest and encourages further reading of the text. It also helps that I find the material extremely interesting. I have not used the accompanying CD yet, but I will when it comes time to study for the first exam. I would recommend this book to anyone who has a background in biology and wants to learn more about cancer or to any professor who is teaching a cancer class.
Excpetionally written from a master of his trade-Assistant Professor January 26, 2010 Maryam Alrashid (Kuwait) I have been impressed by Dr Weinberg's style of writing about cancer from the time I read the review "The Hallmarks of Cancer" when I was a graduate student. It basically served as basis for everything I learned in grad school about the biology of cancer. When this book was published, I was extremely impressed, not only by the writing style (read like a novel!), but the depth and comprehensibly of the information provided to support every concept in the book was extremely satisfying. This is my favorite book on the subject, very informative for professors and researchers, yet simple enough for higher-level undergraduate students to understand.
Best Cancer Biology Textbook on the Market August 19, 2009 Alan H. Shain (Palo Alto) I am a cancer biology graduate student. During my first year in graduate school, I was looking for a general resource which summarized the big picture behind the basic science of cancer research. Cancer Biology is an integrated field. While there are many molecular biology, biochemistry, developmental biology, et cetera textbooks on the market, most of these books only tangentially relate to cancer. This book was recommended by several faculty. I read the entire text cover to cover including every figure and caption. My knowledge base is extraordinarily well-founded, and I would recommend this to anyone interested in basic cancer research. If you are more interested in clinical cancer research, I would not recommend this book although it touches on several of the high points from the clinical field.
Great book February 25, 2009 T. Zhu Fantastic cancer book. Good for undergraduates and graduates. It is written in a historical sense. It tells you how science is been done.

it is a very good book not only for biologically majored post-graduate students, but also useful to area related with biology or who wants to get profound knowledge on cancer. Highly recommend to people who are working on cancer-related area.
