Great source! October 22, 2009 Paula L. Reaves This is a great resource for people dealing with grief and those who want to understand people dealing with grief.
Tear Soup for sadness recovery October 9, 2009 Ele Singer (Hummelstown, PA, USA) When I was looking for books about grief recovery, I cam across this wonderful book. It is written in a children's format, but is interesting, engaging and helpful to adults as well. The illustrations lead the reader through a journey of collecting thoughts and memories in order to pass through the process of grief and letting go in order to return to some sense of normalcy in life. I highly recommend it as a way to deal with feelings of loss, disappointment and grief. I have purchased this book for several people who were struggling with loss, and I get lots of positive feedback about how it has helped people recognize and honor their feelings during a difficult time. Kudos to the authors & illustrator for their insight into the process of a healthy recovery from loss.
Understated, Yet Compelling September 29, 2009 Jan Friedman (Virginia, United States) This is a book for all ages, a book for anyone who has experienced loss of a loved one. The reader never knows why the main character is grieving, but that is not the point. The grief is understated, yet the message is compelling. Grief is personal as is the time one needs to express it. The graphics add to the message, and I loved how the Basset Hound was in all the pictures helping to express the mood. I purchased two copies after a friend gave this to me and mailed them out to those who had also been greatly affected by our family loss.
Tear Soup September 18, 2009 Charles L. Hammer (Springfield, OR) Very Good book for us in our time of grief at losing our 5 year old granddaughter to a drunken driver. It brought some comfort and peace.
We are happy with how quickly it arrived and with the condition of the book
Very Helpful & Appropriate for All Ages & Grief Situations September 16, 2009 T. R. Rix (IL, USA) I now give this book instead of flowers when friends suffer the loss of a loved one. Everyone I have given it to has told me how much they liked it and how helpful it was. The story is one people can identify with regardless of age, gender, or circumstance. It applies to any type of loss--death, divorce, loss of home, major illness, etc. The lists of helpful suggestions for an adult, spouse, child, and friend in the back of the book are an added bonus.
