5 out of 5 stars Great Resource for Dealing with Pet Loss   October 20, 2009
Debra J. Dandro (Charlotte, NC United States)
We just recently lost our "Forever Dog", Airy, who was about 11.5 years old. She died in her sleep, right between us, apparently after having a stroke. The grief we have experienced has been unreal so I began looking for resources to assist us. One of the books I discovered was "For Every Dog an Angel". This book is so well written and beautifully illustrated. It is a very touching story and has truly comforted us. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who has or is dealing with the loss of their beloved dog.

5 out of 5 stars Wonderful book for anyone who has lost a beloved pet   September 29, 2009

I only have great things to say about this book. I originally received one as a gift when my dog died in 2007. Reading it gave me comfort and hope and helped make me even smile a bit. The art work is beautiful. Losing my dog, Munchie, hit me harder than I ever could have imagined it would have. The book is probably a 3 minute read and was a real emotional support. I still read it once in a while and have purchased at least 7 books since 2007 for friends who have lost a pet(it is published for people who have lost cats, too). Everyone has thanked me so much for sharing this with them. If you buy directly from the author, she'll sign your copy. Dont' hesitate to try it.

5 out of 5 stars For Every Dog An Angel   July 16, 2009

What a truly wonderful and touching little book. The illustrations are lovely. The story is simple in style, yet touches the heart. For bereaved owners or as a gift to someone who has lost their beloved family dog member.

Someone opined it was too religous - I do not consider myself to be a member of any type of organized religion at this time - but I do not feel this book is overtly religious; not to the point it would make someone who is "non" religious uncomfortable.

I plan to always have at least one on hand for a gift.

Given as a gift. Appreciated the book. For sick dogs or the loss of a dog. Well written.

5 out of 5 stars A True Comfort   March 21, 2009
Jill Cahr (Chicago, IL)
This book has been a critical part of our family's mourning process for our dog Filbert. I was given this book by a friend after Filbert, our 11 year old Mini Poodle, died unexpectedly. I read it every night for 6 months and cried--but in a wonderful cathartic way. The moving words and illustrations were (and still are) a huge comfort and make me smile when I think of where my forever dog is waiting. My young son finds great comfort in this book too. He keeps a copy by his nightstand and we often read it together and think of Filbert. The upbeat words have started many wonderful and helpful conversations in our home. I always have a few copies on hand in case someone I know loses a pet. Thank you Christine for helping us through a difficult emotional challenge.
