A uniquely creative compilation of activities to help bereaved children express feelings of grief, diffuse traumatic reminders, address self-blame, commemorate the deceased, and learn coping strategies. Includes special activities for children dealing with the suicide or murder of a loved one. It covers a theoretical overview for practitioners, tips for caregivers and schools, and a ten-week curriculum for use in therapy or support groups. An invaluable resource for grief counselors, group facilitators, and school personnel.

5 out of 5 stars Don't lose this book!   May 22, 2009
Denise Filley (Overland Park, KS)
This book has amazing activites, ideas and worksheets to work through the stages and processes of grief. The greatest thing is that they apply to many situations of loss/grief. The adaptation of the activities is simple and everyone will find so many things they can use.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent!   March 20, 2009
M. Rivera
This book is really great to work with bereaved children. Especially those that are resistant to the process. I find it highly valuable and with great ideas to approach such difficult subject. It even has a chapter dedicated to special children needs, like when the death is suicide or murder related. Great resource!

5 out of 5 stars A Great Resource!   January 5, 2009
Megan Cowan (Toronto, ON, Canada)
This book is a fabulous resource for working with bereaved children! It is easy to use and contains many engaging and creative activities. As well, the theoretical overview of working with bereaved children and the references and suggested reading section are useful tools. I have found this book very helpful when working with bereaved children and highly recommend it!
