Product Description
Music can soothe the savage beast¿including your dog! Millions of dog guardians have grappled with behavior problems caused by their dog¿s anxiety¿ from fits of barking when their beagle is left home alone to the nervous whimpering of their dachshund during a thunderstorm. Now, psychoacoustic expert Joshua Leeds joins concert pianist Lisa Spector and veterinary neurologist Dr. Susan Wagner to create Through a Dog¿s Ear: Music to Calm Your Canine Companion; the first CD in a new series of music clinically proven to calm canine listeners.

4 out of 5 stars Peaceful   October 12, 2009
Christine E. Corless
My dog has been anxious and this music has been calming to him. He seems to be less anxious when he has this music on...one other plus it is pleasant for me to listen to, not unbearable like some other relaxation music cds I purchased.

5 out of 5 stars I'll Be Buying Additional Volumes   October 9, 2009

Now that the nights have gotten colder and it is dark early, I like to put this CD on about an hour before I put my doggie to bed; we both relax by the fire while I pet her or read; the music is very relaxing.

5 out of 5 stars Book plus sampler CD -- great!   September 8, 2009
M. HARDT (Houston, Texas)
Not only does this book include the latest research on the effects of sound on dogs, but it includes a sampler CD so that you can see if it works on your dog. My dog was asleep within 5 minutes. In addition to the research reported in the book, it has an excellent bibliography at the end of the book for those who want to find out more about the subject.

5 out of 5 stars Great, interesting book, fabulous cd   August 22, 2009

This is a well-written and thoughtful book. The research is fascinating and both made me reflect on my own relationship with music and made me think - a great plus for any book, in my opinion.

The cd sampler and subsequent full length cd's have been quite effective for my dogs - but they MUST be used properly. You can't just put in the music during a thunderstorm and expect a frightened dog to automatically and magically fall asleep. The book explains how to condition the music positively for you dog if you aren't familiar with the process.

The music is also quite enjoyable for humans and is among some of my favorite meditation and relaxing music.

I have had great sucess with this for a high anxiety dog I adpoted from a shelter. My trainer recommended it to me. I found it even helped me relax. I recently had to undergo an mri so I used it for my music and as claustrophobic as I am it was a great help. I bought one to send to a friend and another to keep at a beach house I have. When I leave the house I put it on for my dog and she is happy and content until I return. Highly, highly recommend it to all.
