This book was excellent, even though I am not married. It has also been a great help to my married friends.

I purchased mine through my church bookstore which included the book itself along with the study guide. It's an excellent book that answers many questions for Christian wives who have a desire to be the wife that God intended. God is the same today as he was 2000 years ago. Which means, the home is the wife's domain today as it was then. I love how she emphasized glorifying God in all that we do. I can understand how this book would anger some women because it really makes us evaluate ourselves and if our thoughts, actions, and motives are truely glorifying the Lord. This book will be a blessing for those who aren't afraid to know what God TRUELY intended for the Christian wife. God has really blessed our marriage by following these principles.

This is one of the few books that I have read and re-read. It IS convicting! But, it's truly what I need someone to say to me, and the author is humbly motivating! I have been married now for 24 years and there is still no other book that I have found to be more practically helpful to my marriage and personal happiness (besides the Bible!). I actually feel the pleasure of God as I apply the truths Martha pours out from His Word. I can not be responsible for my husband, he will answer to God. I WILL ANSWER TO GOD ONLY FOR MYSELF AND I WANT TO HEAR "WELL DONE!"
It is rare for me to find a book that actually uses scripture as support and then when they do have scripture, eek, I tend to skip over the scripture to get to the next point (and then feel guilty). This book is replete with scripture and COMPELS me to read the passages. The layout of the book is beautiful and useful and unlike any other I have seen. The author uses the layout to draw the reader into the scripture and it's application.
"The Excellent Wife" is an excellent book!

This guide will definitely help you in your relationship with your husband, and God. It challenges you to
delve intp the depths of your re;ationship and view it through God's eye. I have found it to be most revealing within myself and challenging my spiritual growth.
