| Customer Reviews: Practical and informative aromatherapy! December 23, 2009 Linda L. Toomey (New York USA) This book was a nice surprise. One never knows for sure how easy-reading a translated book is going to be. (translated from French into English) This book was easy reading and informative. Brings aromatherapy to a practical everyday experience. It is also inspirational in a number of ways in regards to aromatherapy and alternative healthcare.
Natural Home Health Care using Essential oils December 7, 2007 Jen Tarchin (Farmington, Utah) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Daniel Penoel and Rose Marie Penoel have given the English speaking countries a gift with this translated version of his French book. The author artfully outlines an overview of essential oil history. Penoels philosophy shines through his descriptions on home treatments with essential oils. Treatments that any lay person can accomplish. The only downside is that their is no listing of suppliers. Especially suppliers of Roselina oil. I only hope that he will translate his other book that is only available in French!
Simple yet pacted with INFO January 11, 2007 L. labean (USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Great book for beginner or experienced users. Not to much detail, yet just enough for those who are already aware what powers Essential oils have against infections.
List oils that are not costly and easy to get. I practice more along the lines of the French, so this book was something of interest to me. English tend to not apply oils neat, while the French do when attacking a virus or bacteria head on.
I apply oils to the souls, and have no problems. Oregano, Cinnamon and others high in Phenols cause no problems when placed on the souls.
So I would recommend this book for everyone, no matter how long you have been practicing.
Excellent practical advice March 15, 2000 Deborah Layton (New York) 37 out of 37 found this review helpful
Dr. Penoel and his wife offer excellent advice about how to use essential oils at home to treat specific and sometimes difficult conditions. This is the first in what will likely be a series of such books. Although some of the equipment he recommends using is not readily available in the U.S., he offers suggestions for alternatives. Not necessarily for the beginning practitioner looking for general info but definitely of great use to people fairly experienced with essential oils or for those seeking specific details on how to use alternative methods for treating health problems--especially sinus infections and bronchitis. I have used his nasal rinse advice with much success.
