Product Description
The patented FURminator Large deShedding Tool quickly and easily removes (it doesn't cut) the loose, dead undercoat hair that is the underlying source of shedding - a pet owners #1 complaint - and the allergies and cleanliness problems associated with it. The tools unique stainless steel edge grabs loose undercoat hair and removes it without damaging the pets topcoat. Reduces shedding up to 90%. Guaranteed to reduce shedding better than any brush, comb or rake . Works great on all shedding breeds of dogs and cats, (both long and short-haired). Brings out the pet's natural oils, leaving a shiny and healthy topcoat. Features a comfortable, ergonomic grip handle.

5 out of 5 stars Amazed at piles of fur   March 20, 2010

Have to say the furminator does all it promises though I believe to a certain extent it "razors" some hair off more than combs so I would be cautious to not over brush. I found it especially helpful with our wirey jack russell terrier as his coarse hair is difficult to get off with regular combs.

5 out of 5 stars must have pet tool   March 19, 2010

this is a must have for pet owners. i have a 4 yr old german shepherd whose shedding has always been out of control. i bought this tool because a friend of mine told me of her experiences using the furminator while working in a vet clinic. i kinda dismissed the recommendation until we moved to a new place and ended up having all hard floors. i found myself dusting my furniture everyday and sweeping 3x's a day(at least). my days seemed to revolve around picking up dog hair! finally after listening to my friend rave about this product i purchased 1. instantly there was a difference, i could not believe it. i could actually pet my dog w/out having a pile of dog hair on the floor when im finished. now im not saying this product will make your pet completely stop shedding but if you have a long haired animal i would definitely recommend trying this product and i do think you will be just as amazed as i am.

5 out of 5 stars Hair of the dog   March 19, 2010

My siberian Husky has globs of hair. The furminator removes those globs and makes our dog comfortable even in the Phoenix desert.

1 out of 5 stars Not good for all dogs   March 18, 2010

After seeing the great job the Furminator did on my friend's dog, I decided to give it a try on my own dog. I had read reviews that warned about the blade cutting the hair but I was so impressed with the results I had seen firsthand, I got one anyway.

I have a Samoyed, a double-coated breed. I started with the Furminator and was disappointed at how little of the undercoat it actually removed. The teeth are not long enough to get through the undercoat and I saw that, along with the little undercoat it was pulling out, there were also long strands from the topcoat in the Furminator. After about 10 minutes I gave up. The Furminator just wasn't effective at getting through her coat and I was concerned about damage to the topcoat. I went back to using my trusty undercoat rake, which is far more effective than the Furminator and doesn't damage the coat.

I have seen good results with this product on other dogs, but do not recommend it for breeds with dense undercoats and silky topcoats.

I have two border collies, both with medium length fur, and this thing is a lifesaver! They feel so smooth and soft
