| Customer Reviews: Remarkable! July 25, 2009 Sam Booksmith This is a veterinary textbook/handbook. However, it is written in remarkably accessible terms that I as a layman find easy to understand. This is an excellent and detailed summary of what we know about the behavior, physical perceptions and psychology of domesticated animals. The text is broken down by species - cow, pig, dog, etc. If you are fascinated by animals, especially domesticated animals, this book belongs on your shelf.
Well researched and well referenced! February 2, 1999 7 out of 9 found this review helpful
Dr. Houpt's book gives excelent overal and indepth knowlege to both the beginer and the professional. It was well outlined so specific information could be accessed quickly.
