Product Description
James Herriot’s final work and last in his beloved series of animal stories
This fifth and final of James Herriot's heartwarming story collections brings back familiar friends (including old favorites such as Tricki Woo) and introduces new ones, including Herriot’s children Rosie and Jimmy and the marvelously eccentric vet Calum Buchanan.
As James grows older, he finds that change comes even to his beloved Yorkshire---but not necessarily bad, as he watches his own two children come to share and participate in his deep love of the animal world. Herriot’s last memoir, Every Living Thing is a truly heartwarming read, burstingly full of his deep joy in life, sense of humor, and appreciation of the world around him.

Herriot's classic September 29, 2009 Lynn O'rourke James Herriot continues to enthrall readers with his warm Yorkshire animal tales. There is no writer before or after that has his compassion, humor, insight and knowledge of four-legged creatures. His work will charm for generations to come - and Every Living Thing is no exception.
Every Living Thing September 12, 2009 Son Of A Seabee (Auburn, NY, USA) Mr. Herriot has a "way with words"! He allows the reader to see the hills, the work being done in detail, a sense of being right there with him as he describes in detail the experience set before him. As with his other books, I can sit back to read for hours without a boring chapter of his life, the Dale farmers, his helpers nor his children being told! God gave this man a true talent for others to enjoy, to see mentally the clear painted picture of the Dales, to be "present" as he performs the vet's job, to experience how the Dale farmer spoke in his dialect back in the days. To laugh and cry as he reveals the ups and downs of human daily living on the Dale Hills. A breath taking picture of his stops between farm visits to see the hills, valleys, farms, in silence and awl of God's Beauty. This is a book to be passed on the your grandchildren to read and enjoy life before "the electronic age" of distractions in our lives!
Great read! June 7, 2009 B. Mills James Herriot books are always wonderful. Funny and heartwarming, I find myself so immersed in his world, I have to stop myself from speaking in a Yorkshire accent when I'm reading one of them!
fast March 31, 2009 Kathryn A. Fisher (Minnesota) fast shipping and a hard cover book at discount prices. I would buy from them again
Great audio performance of a great book November 24, 2008 B. Graves (Cincinnati) This is one of my favorite James Herriot titles and Christopher Timothy always does a great job reading and putting feeling into the text. I highly recommend each book and audio recording in the series.
