Product Description
Within the brotherhood, Rhage is the vampire with the strongest appetite. He's the best fighter, the quickest to act on his impulses, and the most voracious lover-for inside him burns a ferocious curse cast by the Scribe Virgin.

Possessed by this dark side, Rhage fears the times when his inner dragon is unleashed, making him a danger to everyone around him. When Mary Luce is unwittingly thrown into the vampire world, she must rely on Rhage's protection. Knowing that Mary feels the same intense animal attraction, Rhage must make her his alone...

5 out of 5 stars Another great BDB book   March 1, 2010

I liked Dark Lover, but I didn't think it was the greatest. That being said, I LOVED Lover Eternal. The story kept me engaged all the way through, and I couldn't put the book down. Can wait to read the rest of the Black Dagger Brotherhood series!

5 out of 5 stars Another Great One In This Series!   February 20, 2010
A Mother and Avid Reader (Detroit)
J.R. Ward managed to take a guy I would usually hate (Big Man On Campus) and reveal him to be a lovable, devoted, kind, honorable guy I love.

Rhage may be the playboy of the Brotherhood, but he sleeps around because he has to - not because he wants to. Mary struggled through the death of her mother and a debilitating illness and is Rhage's perfect mate. She is the calm to his excitability, the suspicious nature to his open-book personality, and the accepting lover to his hidden pain.

I like my heroines a bit sassier than Mary, but that is simply not Ward's way. However, Mary is tough and likable and that's good enough for me.

Great book that I've reread several times. It's not as sexually adventurous as some of the others, but the tenderness and emotion more than make up for that. Just like all of the Brotherhood books, I do not read any of the stuff not directly related to the romance - like the stuff from the enemy's viewpoint. It never detracts from my enjoyment of the story.

I highly recommend it.

5 out of 5 stars An Amazing Book   February 12, 2010

Since discovering JR Ward's BDB world about 6 months ago I have devoured all the books several times. Rhage and Mary's story is my absolute favourite closely followed by Zsadist and Bella's. I love love love this world she's created and dread someone making them into films. There isn't an actor alive who could do justice to these gorgeously sexy warriors. I get weak in the knees just reading the least steamy parts of Rhage and Zsadist's stories. I think I will be re-reading this series for many years to come, they feel like old friends already.
