Product Description
Now in its second edition, Essentials of Veterinary Ophthalmology provides its readers with a practical introduction to the diagnosis and clinical management of the most frequently encountered eye diseases of domestic animals. Essentials of Veterinary Ophthalmology is distilled from the authoritative, two-volume, fourth edition of Veterinary Ophthalmology (Gelatt), drawing primarily on the clinically relevant sections to provide expert coverage in a more concise and quick-reference format - ideal for busy small animal or equine practitioners seeking rapid advice for a patient. The second edition includes more images, algorithms to speed the clinical problem-solving process, key points highlighted in bold, expanded appendices for convenient reference to therapeutic agents, recommended dosages, and possible side effects, and a brief glossary.
Practical and accessible, the second edition of Essentials of Veterinary Ophthalmology is filled with reader-friendly features to provide veterinary students and practitioners with an indispensable resource for the fundamentals of clinical veterinary ophthalmology.
* Focuses on the most common eye diseases of small animals and horses
* Provides expert coverage in a concise, quick-reference format
* New edition includes more images, algorithms, key points in bold, expanded appendices and glossary
* Based on the two-volume definitive reference Veterinary Ophthalmology, 4th Edition (Gelatt)

Customer Reviews:
2 out of 5 stars very misleading   January 11, 2009

The purchase of this textbook was very misleading. The description of the item stated it came with an interactive DVD. No such DVD existed. I returned it once to reorder, but the same book came with no DVD. In addition, I was billed for the more expensive version (i.e. with DVD) not the less expensive version for the book without DVD.

5 out of 5 stars A reader covering the diagnosis and clinical management of eye diseases of domestic animals   November 10, 2008
Midwest Book Review (Oregon, WI USA)
A more specialized, but equally important, reference for such collections is the second updated edition of Kirk N. Gelatt's ESSENTIALS OF VETERINARY OPHTHALMOLOGY, a reader covering the diagnosis and clinical management of eye diseases of domestic animals. It draws on clinical experience to provide a quick reference format, making it a fine pick for busy vets seeking a rapid consultation and diagnosis device. More images, a more convenient layout, and a reference to dosage, side effects and more make this reference more practical than ever.
