Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
This guide offers an explanation of the cause, prevention and treatment of parasitic infestation and diseases of the skin of the horse, for the horse owner and student. It is the third in the "Allen Veterinary Handbook" series, following "Lameness" and "Respiratory Disease" by the same author. Gray addresses such diverse matters as: worm control; pasture management; the cause and treatment of sweet itch and ringworm; and the eradication of mites, lice, bots and other unwelcome parasites to which the horse can be an unwilling host. Fly control is also covered, as are warts and a variety of infections and diseases of the skin.

This book has great detail of the different types of worms. The pictures/photos are clear and of an accurate size. It explains Life cycles, Treatment and Control for each different type of worm. The book is written in general plain english (for the normal person to understand) not techincal veterinary terminology, although this is also available through this book. It also covers pasture management, skin conditions, bacterial and fungal diseases, plus heaps more. This is a must for every concern horse owner/trainer.
